I've got an older helmet with the date worn off and scrutineers are sometimes a little iffy about it. I know that there's recent rule changes for fire extinguisher dates, what's the go with helmets? If I need to get a new one the 2016 Bell Qualifier looks decent, it's ECE 22.05 Standard Certified. The CAMS Schedule D lists under Level A Standard 'E22 (with 03, 04 or 05 amendments)' – can anyone please confirm if this is the same? acsplit
Ok guys here is the info on helmets and fire extinguishersMost helmets from your local motorbike shop will pass the requirement. Which is it must have the AS/NZS 1698 sticker or greater. However you get what you pay for, so the cheaper helmets are heavier, bulkier and hotter. I'd suggest something in $200 range, as that provides good overall value. The fire extinguisher must be 900g or larger with a standards sticker of as1841 (not as1841.2). Which you can get from autobarn or supercheap, make sure it has a metal bracket. The date stamped on the bottle is only valid for 3 years, so get one with this years date on it. You need to 'bolt' it to the car which you can grab from here. This bracket bolts straight to the seat, without the need for drilling or cutting 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466199-shockworks-presents-round-9-sandown-raceway-1st-oct-grand-final-day/page/2/#findComment-7773190 Share on other sites

No, however if you feel like your helmet could be borderline unsafe due to it's age (or if it has ever been in an impact (including dropping it on the ground)) then personally I highly recommend getting yourself a new one. It's amazing how many people try to sneak through with dodgy things, when the restrictions are there for their own safety... The CAMS scrutineers have seen it all, so if in doubt, don't risk it. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466199-shockworks-presents-round-9-sandown-raceway-1st-oct-grand-final-day/page/2/#findComment-7773374 Share on other sites

I know that a motorcycle helmet is the easiest option but where do people go for entry level Hans enabled ones in Melbourne?
