Hello! Finally rejoined the club!

Hey Everyone,

Names Chris, been a forum stalker for ages now finally picked my new baby up and ready to get playing!

Had an R32 GTS-T with a S1 284rwhp RB25DET with conversion when I was 18 that was my first true love, then she met tragic circumstances with my brother in law and a light pole (everyone was fine... except my pride and joy)

Finally, 10 years later found her reincarneted in R34 GT-T form with tasteful mods and booked her straight in for a full birthday with a Skyline specialist to get her to 400rwhp. All the supporting mods are done, (Injectors, 90mm throttle, Alcon 330mm brakes, Tomei Cams, fuel rail, FMIC, Exhaust etc) Just bolting a low mount GT30 on with boost controller and a bit of maintenance and she will be a weapon!

Just wanted to say hi from Perth and its good to see a lot of helpful, like minded individuals!

Cheers
Chris

Nice! It looks beautiful!

I particularly like your engine covers.

:welcome:

Are you planning on doing a build thread?

Thanks man, yeah they are custom painted RB26 covers with modified for the VCT gear on the Neo, with the forward facing inlet plenum (which I am told actually loses you power unless running high boost).

As for a build thread, I dont think I will go too crazy with it, it will be all the little subtle/aesthetic changes I will make. Once I get her to 300rwkw that is more than enough streetable power... We will have to see how far my passion takes me if I end up feeling she is worthy of a build thread haha.

Thanks for the Welcome!!

Welcome Chris,

drop into the WA section for a chat and catch up for a meet sometime:408_beers:

Cheers mate, yeah I will for sure!!

I intend on the smaller aesthetic touches and visual/electronic customization, and yeah love to brainstorm some ideas and get/give advice, so getting to know the scene in WA is definitely on the agenda! :12_slight_smile:

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
