Down here it's about $100 but you will usually need to be a member of a club ($65ish) and so may need a CAMS license ($83 L2S).

Phillip Island next weekend is 2 days at $125 per day with a fair chance of at least 1 hour each day on the track. Just wondering if I'm man enough to take full advantage of it.

Yeh, my car's being turned into something track capable as we speak, but I still get ****ed up because of other idiots... It's crap... where's the rewards for the responsible ones I ask.....

How can I feel right that;

a) I can't drive at whatever time I please, responsibly, because of others doing the wrong thing

B) I can't drive my car, which won't meet "power to weight ratio" limits, because of others doing silly things with their "suped up death traps"

c) Can't get insurance because of other's doing the wrong thing and causing accidents

and so on.

It makes you feel like shit is all it does.

I see both sides of the story, but it's quite a disadvantage for some including myself. It's like back in school, where everyone would have to stay back for detention because of another clown not taking responsibility for their actions.

i recon anyone under 21 when they have more than one mate in the car drives like a tool

i know i did..... the amount of close calls was huge im lucky to be alive

and it wasnt just me when i was in my mates car there were a million close calls as well

so only having one of your mates in the car at night is a great idea

That isnt necessarily right for me.......

I'm not sure about others, but when my friends or whoever sit in my car, i tend to speed LESS then i would when i am by myself. This is because like i have a fear that say if i have an accident, crash and whateva and one of my friends gets seriously injured or maybe even die..i wouldnt be able to live with that for the rest of my life whereas if im by myself im the only one responsidble for my own actoins.

Which is why, i dun tend to speeed as much or that much when my friends are around.

This has not been well thought off

I am under 21 and I go to TAFE every tuesday, wednesday and friday night. I start at 6pm and finish at 10pm. It takes me 15-20 minutes to get there and come home. How will i get home? and even if they do provide exemptions does this mean that I will get pulled over every night just so they can see it?

I used to work at the council where I had to drive at 5:30 in the morning just to reach my work at 6. These people who work the late shifts and early shifts will be disadvantaged, its not right.

Im 18 and I might have done some stupid shit, but ive learnt my lesson from experience. But what if I want to go out at night, I would like to get drunk and have some fun. It is cheaper for me to take my car, then it is to get a taxi. I would be happy for this law to get passed down IF the government can agree to pay half my taxi fee like they do with the disabled. But i dont think that will ever happen.

If i get pulled over for speeding, give me a ticket and take my points, i know i done something wrong and i deserve to be punished for it, same goes for drink driving, burnouts and the like. But what is wrong with driving normally at night?

We are responcible enough to drive in the daytime but at night we arent? Why is that? Im not going to fall asleep at the wheel, i never have because im always alert when i drive at night. I find it easier to drive at night anyways, there are less cars on the road.

In the past years there have been some dramatic changes to young drivers:

- the introduction of green p plates

- the 0% alcohol limit

Why do we need to introduce more laws now? Is the system not working?

I am an adult and I deserve the right to be treated as one. I have been given this magic card that allows me to drive where ever i want, when ever I want. And now it has to change? I like things the way they are

With the 0% alco limit, i got a handlet in the mail, basically saying go out, have a few drinks, have a good time but just get some one else to drive you home. Now they want to say you can do have fun but we just wont let you.

The government just doesnt want to spend money. They are settling for the cheapest solution which is not right. Like I said i would be glad to have this law if the government could:

- Pay for half my taxi fair when i go to the city every friday and saturday night for clubbing

- Get more taxis, trains and buses to get to and from locations so that i could get home.

- I want to go to my home after a long night and i want to be taken to the front of my house, like i would with a car. This only works with taxis

- We are going to need alot of taxi drivers now because of the sudden boom that will happen.

- More police will be required for security on trains, certain hot night spots and at stations aswell

- More police will be need will be needed to perform random age checks just like random breath tests at night.

- More police will be required to investigate crime scenes, because girls under 21 going to the city might get raped when they are on their own.

- Like stated before my insurance premium better go down, and the age excess should be dropped if i cant drive half the time

i could go on and on and on about ways you can make it safer for us to go out. But the bottom line is if you want to take away our driving ability at night, you better ****ing provide us with some sort of compensation for it.

There is a petition going online. Sign for it http://www.petitiononline.com/drive/

We are adults so treat us like adults as we all deserve equal rights.

Yeah not too many under 21's rock up to track days. Like Bonkers said to me once;

Come to track days and just get it all out of you.

Something like that anyway..... I think its due time for one. I'm starting to itch....

I just found out from a very reliable source, who attended the official RTA meeting, that it IS being introduced for ALL P platers, effective in December for the hours 10pm to 6am

how can that be when the nsw govt said they will have a draft paper with all the options by next month or something. besides it still has to be written and passed. So this curfew will never be final until they actually draft a bill and pass it...

This is based on the NZ concept for U17s which by all accounts works. from 15 you can get a learners there and drive for 2 years getting lessons or with an experienced driver. More opportunity to learn to respect the road and conditions.

Why not just do this????? Cos this way they don't have attacks on their revenue raising camera policies and are seen to do something and may actually bring the road toll down a bit. Can't say i agree but the NZ system seems sensible.

Most young drivers a tools i see it on the road everyday they all think they are superstars, like i was when i was young but they must think it out, disadvantage those that work or tafe etc they need to do something !!!

I learn't to drive when i was 16 3 weeks in the bush travelling around the land of OZ its was more than i would of learnt 2 years driving on the road also id like to know who voted for what in the poll and there ages as well

we are not all out to get you ask your self that Q when u get older and u will see :(

for the ban 32

Fitzy

I think a better idea would be to ONLY put the curfew on people who have committed traffic offences. Eg, if you get done, say, twice? for speeding while on your P's you will automatically get slapped with the curfew for the rest of the time you're on your P's.

Something along those lines anyway... i think it would definately make ppl think twice about speeding or doing burnouts or whatever, when they've got that penalty in the back of their minds. And it wouldn't penalise the good drivers.

might be hard to enforce tho, cos the cops would have to pull ppl over to check...maybe they could have different coloured P plates or something LOL

"Black P's" mean you've been driving like a tool and you're on a curfew hehe

I've found a way around the curfew anyways, besides, I do work back to stupid hours alot. But anyway, Boss is going to write a letter saying I'm on call 24/7 as a technician and that includes his Internet Cafe in the City...

So I can at least go for a leisurely cruise to the city on a Saturday night if I please :)

    • Yeah I also looked at Plazmaman, but, it ended up alot  cheaper getting black ones through EFI when you also added in the delivery cost
    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
