Hi,

Ā

So I had this project of shift light on steering wheel for my r34 gtr started for month ago now and I finally finished it.

Features are :

- 9x RGB leds can be set by user

- threshold RPM can be set by user

- custom PCB to get RPM from cluster (so it doesn't matter if it's a stock ECU or standalone ) !

- doesn't affect cluster/ecu behavior

- custom hairness (except 12v, there is only one solder or quick contact to do on a wire )

- based on OEM r34 gtr

To be confirmed but it should work on r32, r33 and gtts

Ā

I think I'm the only one to have something like this in the world

Ā

I got a lot of good comments when I show it to friends and so I have been thinking of selling some.

Steering wheel customisation will be done by a french company

I will do this during my free time, meaning I don't need to eat. It's just extra.

I'm an electronic engineer so I know what I'm doing (most of the time šŸ˜› )

Ā

Price is not defined yet and will depends on how many people are interested and options asked for the stiching, carbons, color etc

Ā

If you are interested, don't hesitated to contact me

Ā

Best regards

Ā

PS : if this kind of sell is not allowed, please delete no problem

This looks awesome! When you say the LEDs can be set by user, is it fully customisable?

When I think of shift lights, I'm picturing it lighting up from the outside to the middle. Like below

. . . . . . . . . (all LEDs off)

| . . . . . . . | (outside LEDs on)

| | . . . . . | |

| | | . . . | | |

| | | | . | | | |

etc. then blink at the below for shift

| | | | | | | | |

Ā

Is that possible?

Also what is involved in getting it done? Have to send in the steering wheel I presume?

thank you for your comment ;)

Unfortunatly only the colors but if I have a lot of interested on this, I could look into it.

Ā

Well I will provided a kind of instruction/manual for installations and obviously support

Installation is rather simple, Basically it's some cover to removed, steering wheel, airbag, clsuter.

Connect custom hairness and that's it.

Ā

You can send your own or I can buy an used one or start from an aftermarket one

Hi Bogboss, I am also an electronics engineer. I my business if OG Innovations. One of my products would be perfect for this, I have a shift light controller that would be perfect for this.

I it’s a shift controller where the amount of leds can be set up to 64 leds. The Color segment size is customisable, Color’s are customisable and so is the animation.Ā
I also have a can bus version so it can be installed on new cars aswell.Ā
Pm me if you’re interested I can readily supply these. Powertune bought a few hundred of them to bundle with their dashes.Ā
I also have an array of various led bars, you should look at the dot star 2020 leds, you could fit twice as many in a wheel, I can make them to the shapes, sizes and specs to meet your needs.Ā

    • I couldn't agree more. I should have started from the get-go with a NEO or solid bucket conversion. I started looking into converting over to solid lifters yesterday. Now for some reason I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).Ā  But I see no mention of this on any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must me missing something?Ā
    • BRUH, one of the biggest mistakes of my life..... and i've had plenty ;[)
    • @Murray_CalaveraĀ iam just considering options šŸ™‚Ā of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here šŸ™‚Ā  @joshuaho96Ā I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720Ā that is like 150 USD turbo no? šŸ˜„ I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo šŸ˜„ Ā  Ā  EDIT:Ā https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.
