Hi Guys,

I need some idea's for my boot.

I currently only have a 4x150 pioneer amp in the boot, but will be adding another 2 ch amp and my pioneer 12" sub... i want to do a DIY boot install, with properly flush mounting stuff but i have no idea's... can people post some idea's for me?

Cheers y'all!!

Idea's..

As in designs?

Shouldn't be too hard

I'll do you some designs and stuff if u want

Get me:

- The dimensions of your boot

- The dimensions of your sub box that the manufacturer reccomends

- the size of the amps

you got a cap? get a cap a half farad or something.

Prank,

I think I may have shown you the pics of my install before, but I have 2 x 12" and 2 amps in the boot of my R33. I used straps for the sub box so I can get to the spare if need be. Not flashy, but doesn't move and sounds just as good....

I can post the pics if you want..

I should be able to design it so that the subwoofer uses a wide shallow box and it can sit up under the parcel shelf , but be removable if need be, and then make a false floor with the amps flush mounted or flush mount the amps on the side of the boot i am unsure where the r33 spare tyre is so we will work it out. it's not hard to do (flush mount) and carpet is cheap like $30 for a bag of it from Jaycar.

I was thinking about putting a 10inch or something next to the battery,

but after taking some measurements it looks like i'm gonna have to angle

it and stuff. I was planning to put my amp there also.. Just something

small and light and out of the way.

Prank,

You didn't specify if u still want boost space or it didn't matter.

EVLR33,

Pics would be sweet man, [email protected] .

Um, i wont mind if i lose my boot, but i'd prefer to have a little bit of space left.

I need to do something with my stereo soon... it sounds shite atm.. i just priced a nice 'wood deck that plays mp3's, $900.. has a changy colour screen too.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
