Yep i aint really that interested in the whole drift thing either.

When i got my new brakes put in at a local shop one of the young guys asked me 'so does this do sick drifts?' i said no i aint a drifter. Then he proceded to show me his drift car, which was a stock shitbox vl with 2 smashed in windows and the panel damage to match, which ofcourse happened when he was trying to so a full sick drift!!!

thats because u own an auto

well i do have an auto, but i'm not rushing out to get a manual conversion just to drift (like everyone keeps telling me! - i suppose that's what made me crack in the first place)

in the spirit of things i'll have to say 'go team wang!'

i'm with you guys...

cheers,

Waz.

as much as u hate it... get in a car with someone who knows how to do it properly.... i gurantee u will come out with a smile on ur face or shaking at the knees lol

WANG BITE TEH WANG0R!!!

inark: You could say the same thing about your first night in prison...

I have only been in two cars being drifted at Morwell and one felt like an accident in progress, the other I could have slept, he was so smooth.

I sort of agree with you, while im sick of every second person telling me they are "drifters", i do love it when im just sitting at the lights and see a 32 or sumthing come around the corner completely sideways, it brings a smile to my face, but the next time someone says "so are you a good drifter" or "where do you drift" im gonna rip off there leg and beat shit out of them with it, i mean whats the go, i own a r32 so all of a sudden im a d1 spec doriftor?

I dont drift, purely because i cant afford the new tryes/panel damage, and even if i could, i wouldnt consider myself a 'drifter'

That refers to alot of silvia and 180sx owners that think just coz they got those cars they are drift experts.

Well done boys, last few posts are PURE GOLD.

Main reason im going off drift, is that you look at guys doing club/circuit days and spectators etc can view for free. Charging ppl to spectate at Drift days and turning a profit out of it goes against what club level motorsport stands for.

yeah i dont agree with how much they charge... i still think something should be tho seeing as it isnt cheap in australia to hire tracks... but the normal events that arent the nats are free entry for spectators

    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
