I think Im gonna try an 8psi run next time to see my difference in 60ft time.....I launch great with not much wheelspin so some of u guys with minimal mods and boost should be getting 2.1s

Maybe i need to work out the 2 stage boost systym to give it 15psi as soon as i hit 2nd gear as with 8psi i dont even get a chirp

GTSVSPEC......3800 launch?? are you crazy?

Your turbo full spools at 2800 or something like that,

Ive soon your wheelspin in first maybe u should lower the dump rpm

Yeah I've tried lower rpm, but when the twin plate bites it really bogs down. I've got to learn to slip the clutch, but it is a much finer line for getting it right with a twin. That's why I need the practice, I haven't found the sweet spot yet.

But surely if u let go at 3200 it wont bog down?

Or will it?

I've got a twin plate in mine, and someone told me that slipping it is VERY bad .... frys it very quickly :)

edit: my grammar :)

Macka, I've been trying with different revs, anything below 3500 causes bog down from a clutch drop, anything over 3800 causes wheelspin launch.

I think 3800 is OK, but I tend to lay the power on too soon, I get excited, and so I start with some traction but them loose it in the blood rush.

Next drags bring some long pants and I'll let you have a drive, see if you can work out where to launch it from.

I don't really want to slip the clutch, with more power even twin plates can fry.

You crazy overexcited guy!!

Thanks..Hmmm sounds tempting but id hate for something to let go while i was driving!

And i prolly wouldnt get a better time altho its good to see how other lines are driving :)

I reckon i could of pulled a whole second off ADAM32s best of 14.5 tho.

I tried on that last meet i was there and only managed a 14.5 with first go and dropping it at 4500 i could of done alot better :)

Macka,

I'm not letting you into my pants, you dirty fat bastard. I'm not worried about you breaking anything, if it happens then I'll make it stronger, kind of like evolution.

I'm just worried that you'll crap you pants in excitement, "Wow a clutch that actual bites".

  • 2 weeks later...

I think the key is to change one thing what your doing at a time, if it doesnt work revert back and go down another track -- Strich9 i think we nned to organise a R.I.C.E. dyno day if i get a chanbe ill go have a chat to the TREVS at Kiwana Profomance as they just got a new one in there then we should be able to more understand gear change revs etc.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
