I have serious trouble believing the weight, mate....sorry.

I wait eagerly to be shown otherwise but I can't see a full on competition car like that being made to weigh in excess of 3100lbs on purpose?!?!?

Will look at what Mr. Moroso has to say later and post back with expected power figure.

Adrian

Yeh this car/time has me suspicious since i seen it on the supraforums

in no way saying supras arent fast etc etc

but i just dont understand how it can be that fast and weight that much with only 1000hp, HKS needed to use a Twin Turbo 2x3240 V8 engine and complete weight/drag car to run a similar time

not to mention if this car is such a 'record breaker' like its been posted everywhere, then why the hell isnt there more information on it

if i built this car ide want recognition!

if all the stated information is true, then this car is truely insane and futhermore proves the strength of the 2JZ and supra in general

yeah i agree ... hks are no dumb nuts ... they know what they're doing ... i don't doubt the power of the car ... i just doubt the weight claims ... think of marios gtr ... or any drag gtr ... even think about the drag rotaries ... they do similar times ... theres no way they weight that much!!!!

Don't be thinking this car is some backyard throw together (like my cars), it's been racing for a few years. The US has a larger and more advanced drag racing market, Titan proved how much quicker you can go with an auto on their car (dropped .3 seconds(?) from mid 8's to low 8's).

The turbo is going to be the dictator with regards to horsepower, I think this car is meant to have one of the Turbonetics Thumper's on it (up to 2,000hp).

Check out the engine bay of the Titan car, notice the Wiggins clamps on the water + turbo lines ($US200+ each). That's a fair bit more "advanced" than Mario's car....

I notice the roll cage extends to the radiator support panel. This is not usually done for safety. In fact it removes the crumple zone forward of the strut towers, so would in fact decrease safety. It is usually employed when the front chassis rails and inner guards are removed, so it holds up the nose of the car. To futher support this view, looking at the LHS inner guard it appears to be heavily trimmed. Also note the apparent rearward mounting of the engine, it looks to be around 100 mm further back than standard.

I am not a drag racing expert, but I though the 3000 lb class included the driver. So that would put the car itself at around 1300 kgs. Which is about right for a lightened and fully caged Supra.

:D

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
