In a bid to help me make a decision, If you had to make a choice between the following vehicles, what would you choose? Try not to be biased (yes i know it's hard haha).

89 R32 GTS-T 5spd (we all know what a 32 gtst looks like).

94 BMW 325i 5spd (some pictures attached).

The bimmer in question is a luxurious, well built hyundai excel. (In relation to performance)

Expect it to accelerate and corner horribly compared to your r32. I had my friends 96 model 318is for a week and I recall it being a really impressive looking bucket of shit!

318: 105kw/1360kg/0-100 10s

325: 141kw/1455kg/0-100 8.2s

r32 gtst: 160kw stock. sorry dont have weight or 0-100 stock but they definately wiegh less than either bmw.

Nah, the beamer is a few grand more. (22-25k). It's not the money thats the issue, it's the type of car. I'll no longer have boost. But then i just look at the beamers and it seems like a good excuse to move on. Just tired of seeing so many P platers driving around in skylines etc, and the image that is being created. The cops just wont stop targeting anyone that drives one. :P

I have an RB20 z car and dad as a 2000 M3 limited edition convertable that i am aloud to drive (when he is not in the country any way lol) and while the 3 is a great car to drive it does everything perfect (keep in mind it is an M3 with 18's and $5K worth of suspention) it just isnt the same as a turbo charged nissan. For luxery i would take the BMW for fun and general driving i would take the skyline.

No boost? No problem! Get a bigger Bimmer! I was happy with my Integra daily driver, my RX7 weekender and my Toyota 4Runner because my wife was happy with her Accord. Fast forward to our second child and now the Accord isn`t BIG enough for two kids, a stroller and trivial stuff, you know, like groceries and shit! So I sell off the Accord and my Integra and I get her a BMW740i. 4 litre V8, 280 some hp bla bla bla. Vettes are a problem but not a stock Mustang GT! Hell, I can carry even three of my friends in air conditioned comfort or heated leather heaven (depending on the time of year) and still have enough on tap for Pontiac GTPs and Grand Am GTs! Posers!

So anyways, I couldn`t keep it in my pants and we now have three boys! My wife informs me that we have now outgrown the BMW! Oh crap! If that isn`t bad enough, she wants a minivan! I knew I shoulda got fixed! Anyways, the deal was I buy her the freakin`van and I sell the BMW because there is no way in hell I`m getting rid of the RX7 or the 4Runner!

Ok so I got her the van but I haven`t sold the Bimmer yet because I blew the motor in my 4Runner for the second time this summer. (no biggie, it`s lifted, big tires, purely an off-road toy) So I announce that I`m keeping the BMW for the winter. She doesn`t argue since I got rid of my beloved Integra so she could have a "nice" car.

Well turns out having the 740 was great when it was my wife`s car but it`s really bigger than what I want as a daily driver.

Anyways, all that to say that having a BMW is great, especialy a 7 series, but I`ll be dumping it in the spring for....................you guessed it, an R32 GTR! At 35 years old, I`m in the middle of my mid-life crisis so big powerful luxury cars are not part of the plan!

IMHO, even a 325 is an econobox. Don`t get anything less than a 5 series or else get the Skyline.

Toughguy :D

Wait until u break something on that BMW and we'll discuss about which one is dear to keep.

A 10y.o BMW is at it's life when it becomes a part consumer, euros don't screw car together like the jap, but they do have more style.

one of the blokes i work with has the same model bimmer and if his experiences are anything to go by dont touch the bimmer.

he just had to replace his abs computer at a cost of $650 and that was for a second hand part new would have been over 2 grand.

he has also had faulty air con, faulty central locking and cruise control turning off while its on.

he has decided to sell as the problems start to build.

hes looking at buying something with japanese reliability (his words)

keep the 32 or buy a 32 gtr or 33 sII gtst

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
