hey guys, quick question...

Just about to order from Rocket and heard a horror story...(I won't go into it on here) and now I'm thinking twice... maybe just a fanciful story but it sounded really bad...

If anyone has any positive feedback on these guys please post it here...

any negative comments please pm me...

Thanks in advance

Nick

They are the national distributor for a massive amount of brands and parts. I would place money on every "performance" workshop dealing with them at least once in their lifetime, alot of places get over 60% of their parts from Rocket.

As with any large company, of course they are going to have bad stories. Anyone ever heard that KFC chicken story about a chicken cyst?

thanks guys...

anyone else?

The thing that is worrying me is that I got a quote via email, took note of the part numbers etc, gave the details to my engine builder and he rang to place the order... But the price they quoted him was a few hundred dollars more expensive...wtf (and he would be getting wholesale prices?)

Am I just being paranoid?

thanks guys...

you would think things like this would be simple but it gets confusing when everyone who walks into the garage has to give their 2 cents...I tell my mechanic something and then he rings me back 2 hours later and says "oh dunno about those guys, or this or that" I'm like WTF...Why did you ask me to source the parts then if your not going to fu*#in listen to me... they know a lot about engines but f#@k all about doing business *end rant*

I really envy those of you who have the time and expertise to work on your cars yourself

thanks guys...

Its not your Mechanic adding on his margin??? (my 2c to annoy you and make you think hes now ripping you off, sorry!)

    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
    • I said Garrett style. Not Garrett genuine. And something in the G30 550 range is what you want. Not those pokey little old fashioned T28 sized things. The intake ports in the head are small. There is little benefit in fattening up the runners and leaving ths actual ports small. Just run what you've got. And on the subject of Nistune vs Haltech etc..... You know you can control the transmission with decent standalone ECUs these days, right? No need to keep any of that old Nissan bullshit. Don't get me wrong - I use Nistune on my Neo. But it is a DET, so the number of bodges and workarounds I had to do to make it work in a chassis without ABS, TCS, etc, is quite small compared to the herniated arsehole you will have trying to make it work on a motor that doesn't have some of the things that the turbo ECU wants to see. Just easier to bite the bullet and go aftermarket outright.
    • Hmm. Only when the f**king thing is actually working. Still can't find the leak. And that's with dye being put in the last 3 times!
