Well im thinking im going to get my car tuned on 98 RON, then im going to wind out plenty of ignition and run vrappy unleaded.

The price of fuel is starting to scare me... never has it cost me $60 to fill a car, thats about $15 more then it used to!

At 27 insurance aint getting any cheaper either, now they promise me it gets cheaper when im 30. Hmm time to take the thing off the road, put a cage in it and then enjoy the car at the track

I think governments should start to review the whole 38cents per litre thing. As a single late 20 with a vehicle i would have to be one of the highest taxed ppl in the country.

So just in fuel alone im paying between $30-40 in taxes to the government:( And they want to give me $8 a week back and in return increase the cost of health car, public tranpsort, openly allow new roads to be tolled:(

I can tell you Roy, age and marital status has little to do with the amount of tax you pay.

Yeh i know everyone rides the same merry go round, but come tax time i sure as hell aint any parties target demographic...all the tax cuts are for ppl in situations different to mine.

Anyway, im moving back to Indo, i can make a dollar go further there:) problem is no Skyline could run on their crappy fuel and the price of scotch there is criminal:)

I reckon your getting a bum deal there Roy. My insurance is atleast getting cheaper, whether it's cos i'm getting older or the car is i dont know :P

If you make the r32 the full time track hack what would you drive on the road? A mira? insurance is peanuts, does about 2million ks per $10 tank but you dont want to get hit by anything bigger than a push bike or you can kiss your ass goodbye.

Nah, 3 cylinder Charade...:D

Yeh i cant work it out, i know a guy who is paying less for his R34 GTR and i have never been booked, never had an at fault accident, but made one claim after a car was stolen 7 years ago:( Still $1900 isnt too bad, but its still a grand more then a friend is paying for his 626 which has a claim/accident per year :P

Im just turning into a tight a55, after all its been an expensive year with moving interstate and a few mechanical miss haps....

why you paying so much? You need to shop around for a better policy.. back in VIC i was paying about $1300 for my fully modified r33 full comp..

you could always move to QLD :P.. petrol is cheapest of all the eastern states. ..

Thing is.. people keep buying more and more stupid large 4WD and "people movers" which gobble more and more petrol. I can still not understand that whatsoever. People = stupid

whats stupid as that delears dont need to display how much fuel 4WD's drink yet they have the highest running costs of any car catergory... everyone who doesnt need a powerful car should drive a Honda Civic Hybrid (5.5 L per 100km's) so theres more fuel for skyline owners :P

I think its because of my mods and also the fact that whilst im now in Vic, i am keeping the car registered in Sydney, which im told has the highest insurance premiums in the country. At least it insured for 20 or 22k or something.

roy: try uniquecar insurance in melb if you do wish to transfer your rego over (rego would be cheaper in VIC too wouldn't it?).. www.uniquecar.com.au very generous for 25+ .. will accept all modifications.. they will accept agreed value as well :D

never had to claim with them though, but they have been around for a while.

    • I was using the wiring diagram I have So 12.74V is coming into the rear Fuel Pump relay as I measured.  When I turn the key to ON im getting 0.6V to the Fuel Pump plug; which i assume is backfeed voltage and doesnt include the 12V from ignition power.  The rear relay is working and being triggered.  From the diagram I clearly see the rear relay 80 = Rear Relay going into the Body/H loom (R-27) 27 = Fuel Pump plug going into the Body/H loom (T-20) 40 = Short Connector (R-27) I'm reading 12.74V on the blue/black wire which is the power for the Fuel Pump   From this diagram I can see the Ignition relay goes into the front and up to the ignition  2 = Fuel Pump Relay <1M> (R-27) 37 = ING Relay <1M> I started from the pump using this reference Which the way I read it (referencing Nissan wiring color codes) is: Pin Wire Color Function 1 B/P (Black/Pink) Ground 2 L/W (Blue/White)        ECU Trigger 3 SB (Sky Blue) Fuel Pump 5 L/B (Blue/Black) 12V Constant Tested SB to SB on Fuel Pump for continuity - confirmed Tested negative on Fuel Pump to 12V battery and L/B - confirmed 12V Pulled the relay putting 12V between Pin 1 & 2 and testing continuity on Pin 3 & 4 - confirmed relay   So that has me looking at this part of the circuit to understand whats happening here...and im still confused. From best I can tell; the disconnect is back to my previous diagram; between Ignition Relay and Fuel Pump Relay...which yet again; afaik is where the immobiliser should.    Thats what I was trying to explain to GTSboy; im not trying to fix it myself; yet I seem to have to get a Masters in Electrical Engineering (while im busy doing my actual job of DevOps & Cloud Engineering) somehow.  I just wanted more expert opinions; or more so that what I tested is correct and proves it to something around that area; to go back to the alarm tech (for a 3rd time) that he needs to fix it. He keeps telling me its not the alarm. He lives on the complete other side of the city so i understand not wanting to make a trip but as I said before if its the alarm it should be up to him to fix it. But he's adament its not; even though I pointed out the FP was immobilised through the original alarm. To my mind; it seems that the ECU is sending the signal; but the ignition is not getting 12V down the line.
    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
