Here in Sydney, most people in 'lines are watching the road and trying to avoid collisions.

its like the wacky races some days.....

I usually try to wave to other skylines ( or flash the lights at night)

Most people wave back.......except for this one time I pulled up along this black R33 GTST on the Gore Hill Freeway with 2 Asians inside, rolled down my windows grinning and waving.

They must have thought I was from immigration or something.......because they braked hard ( from the outside lane) and took the turnoff, leaving me bewildered at my friendly gesture gone horribly wrong.

From now on i'll wait for people to wave at me before i wave back:)

A friendly nod and smile at traffic lights:uh-huh: followed by a perve on what they're driving is where I'm at at the moment. Flashing lights and flailing arms at skyrods passing in the opposite direction I haven't progressed to yet, however if someone did it to me I'd do it back for sure.:wavey:

Would I correct in makingg this judgement?

Doc it a shame to say you would be correct. Maybe it's just the ones we see in the area...:)

That's true. With my old ricebox, opps WRX, older people would give me the thumbs up and smile. Young people just want to drag you and get that "mines bigger than yours" feeling.

I was at the servo the other day (I had a car full of people too) , when this young bloke gets out a Commonwhore, gives my car a look, then gives me the two thumbs up "that's tops" Chief style. So I gave him a :) back. (His other car must have been a Skyline)

It's good when people you don't know give you a sign of appreciate of your car ! Makes you feel good.

here's a suggestion///

why don't we come up with a stringent gesture/action specially designed exclusively for Skyline owner's to say 'hi there, fellow skyline owners'...(no guyz.. this doesn't mean u can start following chicks in lines to their home!!) This common understanding may assist the following ;

1. to avoid the slight uneasiness feeling of the rebuffed rejection, and unacknowledged snubness...

2.to avoid the feeling of the receipent of your 'animated hello' pressing the panic button of his/her's quiktrack system believin dat this weirdo is making an unlawful attempt ...

3.demonstrate that 'most' skyline owners are quite intelligent ppl and are capable discliplined and upmost uncompetitiveness communication !!!

so how abt it???

Would you guys wave at a HR30 Skyline turbo coupe?

If anyone is brave enough to wave at an old school Skyline like mine I will definitely return the favour.

p.s

I aslo own a Rex and all the Rex club members wave at each other. Passengers in my car usually think I am on drugs though

How bout "I reckon pinky finger and ring finger folded in palm with other 3 fingers up and palm out. So hand basically makes a "K" "

No, how bout we just keep waving, don't loose sleep about the non-wavers. I reckon some SAU stickers would help tho.

|R34| and MIZ-33T are always up for a wave !!!!

Good to see that we all try to wave to each other.

Definitely agree that SAU stickers would help !

BTW, I waved at a Line down on Pittwater Rd today - He didn't wave back - but hey , I felt good about it !!

Cheers all !!

bleh..there are too many snobby skyliners out there nowadays..I've waved and been ignored (but the drivers of the other cars next to the Skyline have waved at me! LOL)

I'll wave if they're looking, or it's a car i recognise :uh-huh:

(shuddup Jay :) )

    • Chatting one someone recently at racing them at QR. They say you can't take turn 2 in one flat stick in 4th. They don't have the torque to pull them selves straight, so make sure you're ringing it's neck out in 3rd instead
    • Many years ago when I bought my FG XR6T, it came with bald tyres on the back (think pretty much smooth for most of the tread) and brand new Kinforest cheap shit tyres on the front. In the rain, I had more grip in the bald ass tyres on the back, than the brand new Kinforest. To the point you couldn't drive off at a set of lights and turn the corner. Car would only go straight. Very quickly all four tyres were replaced.   A few years back on a VF SV6 I had, it came with brand new chineesium tyres. In the wet at 90kmh, old 1990s tray back tradie utes could corner faster than me. There was one corner on a freeway, in a 90 zone, it's not even marked to reduce speed for those curve, it's not a hard corner, I could put the LandCruiser on mud tyres through with ease (it would easily do the corner in the wet I reckon at 120kmh), the VF however couldn't get through it at 80, as it would want to slide out.   Cheap tyres aren't worth the risk. I like decent brakes, and decent grip.
    • It shouldn't swell like that, (just looked it up) it should say SAE J30R10
    • Anyone here a submersible fuel hose expert? I pulled my hanger out again for unrelated issues and noticed the hose I popped on last week has already swollen. This is Gates 27093 submersible hose. I've waiting on a response from Gates, but this surely can't be normal? This is on pump gas, not E85.  Is swelling a tad possibly normal? I've also been fighting with my power steering belt.... I've now tossed one and killed two. I just realigned my pulleys again, hoping this time it stays on. It doesn't like high rpm.
    • Don't want to side track from the thread too much (don't want to upset the thread starter's run from 2007) so here's some old rusted Nissan Laurels in a parking lot in Nishinomiya, Hyogo-ken:
