No thank god!

If it was then I would 100% never buy a car off him. edit: I would never buy a car off tyson's anyways haha

That's like saying "ohh you have wear on your seat covers, better be careful because your tires will go bald shortly after"

Oh, I was going to put my car on there when I get it ready

Only because it's free and would reach a large percent of the local car people.

I would sell a car on there because there are plenty of clueless people who will buy it purely because its a skyline and has a turbo.

Just be careful because I get the impression that there would be a lot of people just trying to take it for a spin as well.

Or offer you a motorbike and BMX bike cash your way haha

I have had a CF bonnet on my daily driven Black DC2R for about 2 and a half years now, and have only been defected for it once.

I just had my car engineered. Technically CF bonnets are legal, and majority (85%) of engineers out there will engineer them in a jiffy. The law (RTA, NSW) on bonnets is that they need to cover the engine, and exposed belts. So CF bonnets or metal bonnets can't have holes/vents in them, that people can put their hands through to touch the belts. But if it's a OEM style carbon bonnet, it's fine. According to all the engineers I spoke to, including the 5 that were easily prepared to engineer my bonnet said there is no law on crumple zone etc etc that you hear - it's all rumours and lies.
Bonnet pins are also acceptable. One of the engineers said, "if mercs, jags and freaking bentleys have hood ornaments, why the hell can't you have bonnet pins that sit lower, and actually have a function, rather than being a seeing eye for those asian people."

So really, cops shouldn't do anything. If they do defect you, it'll be a pink slip. Pink slip places will clear it easy. If they ask for a blue slip, go get it engineered easy... then go get the blue slip.

Hope that helped.

This is what I found on a JDM tuning - seems legal if engineered :(

Sin was approved at Dickson with one on

However my personal opinion is if it is not OEM then don't put one on - they're s#it !!

Edit:

Pro - lighter on GTT's than OEM (But not GTR's)

Con - Will lift on the corners at speed unless it has bonnet pins

Con - CF/FPR is cheap n nasty (unless you pay heaps for brand/quality)

Con - It was in 20yrs ago. A style that should never come back (like a mullet hair cut)

Con - If it looks like CF then it attracts little boys and cops

Con - Cheaper ones with vents are for appearance and do not assist cooling

Con - When it rains the water gets in (Vented versions)

Ps. If you want something that stands out or looks like CF - wrap your existing or paint it black

Thanks man

those wheels were awesome Ol skool JDM - 3 piece light wheight Panasports (G7 c5c2's - rare ones and even rarer in such good cond).

I should never have sold them :(

The wing was a C-west electronic dual wing (Stolen when the GTR was at Croydons :( )

GTR button in cabin on the side panel near right foot - had 3 settings) Tap, Tap, Tap - Only became useful over about 140/160kmph.

    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
    • thanks GTSboy. My confusion at the moment is i am trying to locate the ignition, ECU battery power and the ECU negative The closest thing i can find is the for the S15 on Page 8 of the Wiring Specialties web page https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9F33_M_GgENQnZ6STMxVmVNd1E/view?resourcekey=0-eZ4nNRwRoqa1qvKlWWHm8A I cannot find the same diagram for the R33 RB25DET Series 2 dash plug pin out.... Do you know what the Pins? or know where i can find the same pinout diagram for the RB dash plug? Thanks for the advice on the box... i like a 6 speed so might be on the lookout or the box now.. a topic of discussion for another post...
    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
