Pity the latest lady isn't there anymore:she was fast, efficient, bubly and cool,in a she's-got-curves-and-she's-ok-with-it way. The current old fella needs shooting:more painful than watching paint dry...

Still,I'm really there for the company-those that regularly turn up know what I'm on about!

The Jerra social golf club runs raffles just before trivia starts.......did you see the big yella wb ute in the car park??? That's my new ride...long story...but I have chosen the yella terra over the soarer, so soarer will be up for sale before I head to Iraq.

Yeah i saw it, i was outside looking for your transport as i wasnt 100% sure it was you, and saw the ute, still in good nik :)

I'd say have fun in Iraq, but it really is a crap hole.

Dad was over there for 6 months and hated it.

Hey MIVEC...which unit is your Dad posted? I might know him....yeah Iraq went to crap after the Tourism Centre closed down

Which is only OK if you buy another 'Line when you get back,LOL!

I really do like the Soarer tho'! When's the trip?

Ahhh, not buying another car, 'line or otherwise  Stu had to buy a work ute, so I had to choose between the soarer and the ute...I figure I will get a lot more for the soarer than the ute, so I actually thought with my head not my heart (shock and horror..what's happened to me???????.......lol). Although, there is a minor ute restoration programme in place...and I DO love the gurgle/rumble that only an old V8 has ...so I guess I will be considered a bogan now...LOL

I an in Sydney next week for Force Prep Training and leave Canberra on 13 March for Baltimore as I have to do a few work related things there (and some great shopping at a HUGE mall across from where I will be staying)..then go to Iraq on 17 March, back early Oct or so.

  • 1 month later...

Due to spiraling expenditure(we shop too much),and the ever increasing need to get the GT-R happening,we'll bow out of Tuesday nights at the Jerra'. It's a $40+ night for the two of us,and this money could be better spent elsewhere. However, one in a while,I'd love to see all the Triv' night regulars,so I'll be suggesting a date soon to catch you all up...

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
