3 people die on central coast - R34 GTR ripped in half

Young driver had crashed his own car

November 26, 2004

P-PLATE death driver Emile Dousset had already been in an accident in his own Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 before the smash that claimed his life and his two friends.

Mourners visiting the crash site yesterday said no one had been seriously injured in the earlier crash.

"I didn't know him well but I know for a fact he had already crashed his own R33 about six months ago," Stephen Deas said.

"It is just really sad, especially knowing that he had been in an accident before in such a similar car."

Emile's father Graeme has already revealed his son did not have permission to drive his father's higher-grade model Nissan Skyline GT-R R34.

That car was named best GTR in NSW at a Nissan Skyline show on the Central Coast earlier this year.

Second placegetter, GTR-R R33 owner Trent Stibbard, said the cars themselves were safe, and had the suspension and top-class brakes to support their big engine.

"It's more dangerous to drive around in those hotted-up, four-cylinder Mitsubishi Mirages that don't have the equipment to deal with such power," Mr Stibbard said.

Meanwhile, the mother of an 18-year-old P-plate driver said she wasn't able to send her son to a driving course because they were not provided at Beechwood, near Port Macquarie.

The woman said her son Daniel had driven his $26,000 Nissan 180 SX for little over a week before was in an accident. While he was unharmed, Mrs Shipley believes he will end up like Mr Dousset unless he receives some training.

"They have the cars but they don't have the experience and I'm just scared that Daniel's small crash could be followed by a much bigger one," said Mrs Shipley, who has written to Mr Scully with her concerns.

can anyone confirm these details?

seems there is a WRX crash now.... what's going on??????????????????????????????????????????????

as terrible as this all is, w h a t t h e f * c k is a 33 yr old guy doing with a 15 yr old girl??? Who is pregnant???????????????? Or was the 15 yr old girl the g/f of the 20 yr old driver?? Either way, you already have BIG problems right there, regardless of the crash..

anyways, add this to the kids that died in their skyline in Melbourne a month back, this R34 crash, the WRX on today, plus others this year..... there is something seriously wrong....... -

My Sympathies to these families and relatives

It's such a waste to have one of Australia's finest Skylines ripped in half.

R.I.P. EVLR34

Condolences.

This is probably the 1 area that i think the victorian police are right about. In victoria we have a 125kW/tonne power restriction whilst on your P's (first 3 years of your licence).

You do enough stupid things when you have just started driving, you dont need the added danger of having a super powerful car. And you can still have a lot of fun in a car under that limit.

    • Yes I can see how that would put you off HFM, especially with the price of good quality brake fluid. From what I understand it as you say the BM50 is the standard BMC for a R32 GTR, I must admit I would like to go far a Genuine Nissan BM57, but lack of cash prevents that at present. With the price being so close between the genuine BM50 and BM57 a BM57 New it seems a better choice as you gain that 1/16 bore size with the BM57, I would be interested in how much difference you feel with the BM57 fitted. I am going to take SteveL's advice in the short term and see how much actually comes out of that proportioning valve vent and save up for the Genuine Nissan part. Thanks for clarifying the HFM failure
    • Thanks mate. I just got the post inspection 1/2 done from state roads when the starter motor packed up, either that or the car alarm system is having trouble.  OEM part number 23300-AA112.
    • Hi, I though I was coming to an end in finding a replacement starter motor for a rb25de neo. I came across a starter motor from Taarks and a message below stating: Direct fit. 11 Tooth count. All below part numbers have been superseded to 11 teeth. Can some body shed some light on going from 8 teeth to 11 teeth apart from 36-month / 25,000 km warranty for passenger vehicles to 12 Month Warranty. Compatible with the following Nissan part numbers: 23300-20P00 23300-20P01 23300-20P05 23300-20P10 23300-20P11 23300-AA111 23300-AA112 23300-AA300 23300-08U10 23300-08U11 23300-08U15
    • Low battery? Maybe check capacity? I know first-hand, on BMWs if your battery drops below 80% capacity, it starts causing strange issues.
    • 8.5 +37 = should fit rear, but I think it'll hit on front. What you want is low 30s/high 20's front, mid 30's rear. That 17" screenshot you posted looks good, I'd run it on my R32 (but that's long dead now). For tyre sizes, my rule of thumb is: 8': 235, 9": 255. But that's just my opinion. Nismo sizes: 18x8.5+35/18x9.5+38 is a good starting point.
