Heya guys,

Yeah the SAFC does air and fuel mixtures but the ITC does Ignition Timing so basically the igniting of the air and fuel i'd say. So now with these 2 bases covered it is pretty close to haveing a Apex Power FC but a bit cheaper. Apparently verhy Highly modded cars run the same combo SAFC with ITC so it musn't be too bad.

Don't mean to be controversial but an S-AFC/ITC combo is nowhere near a PFC for engine management.

They are very very crude devices by comparison.(but very effective for what they are)

The reason they don't sell the ITC's anymore is that if you are going to the trouble to control the ignition as well as fuel you are better off with a PFC

Cheers

HUH?

What if you already have an existing SAFC installed it may be a better option to get the add-on ITC they may not want to take out safc to replace with a whole unit pfc and more tuning..

Or a car may have good original fuel curves and only benefit gains from timing control..

But i agree I would get a PFC as well if i had a choice any day..

AAAAAAAAAahhhhhhhh no drinking your no fun Joe..

You didnt seem to mind the other week...

Have you installed your NA Noise maker yet?

Yup as IMACUL8 and R34 said PFC has more controlling points and better all round bit deerer. However as mentioned i have heard that some big HP cars have the same setup : SAFC and ITC. PFC's are better but for about the $600 i saved i could make up the horsepower elsewhere....or new clutch:mad: so yeah bang for buck maybe this combo is better, could be wrong though but will soon find out i guess....

Due to my whinge before I am pretty sure i might be able to get free install due to the time taken for FMIC to get here. Already was getting it dyno tuned for the SAFC with the new FMIC so kill 2 birds with one stone whilst on the dyno... so have spent about $1000 for that combo fully installed and dyno'd...

The pimp and the whore will be cruising together i hear tonight! could luck boys.... don't mix business with pleasure if you know what i mean :shake: If you do though make sure you invite our new prison friend bubba for some brown love..... ;)

Have fun tonight everyone! might meet yas for a minute!

There is something between the AFC/ITC and PFC.

That's the emanage...I'm still having teething problems with it re timing control but that's something pecular to the 34.

They are an amazing bit of gear when fully optioned and even include a boost cut override option which you'd have to buy separately if going with the S-AFC

14.0 for 400m with S-AFC....13.6secs with partially tuned emanage(Car feels like it's good for low 13's with more practice)

The emanage really smoothed out the power curve of the 34 and produced more power down low because it's that more acurate

The S-AFC is great for minor mods but I understand that the ITC is not really necessary on a 33. All the S-AFC does is go between the AFM and the ECU to change the input signal signal to the ECU to "fool" it into thinking that it is elsewhere in the load map and thereby adjusting the injector output.

Cheers

See ya tonight

Ahh yes the E-manage. If you have a few dollars Godfather but can't afford the PFC and you don't have the SAFC perhaps that might be the way to go.... coz i had the safc i thought the ITC would be the way to go. Starting from scratch i would at the moment go the PFC however the E-manage when out of it's teething problems would definately be the way to go for bang for buck as R34 mentioned!

I think you said they sell for about 1g didn't you say R34... add about $200 for installation and dyno and that aint too bad only $200 expensive than what i have but would control more points of the ecu over my combo.... no funky blue screen though:D

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
