I believe that funky is sri lankan and at the moment is in NSW. I know that his mum and dad?? are in NSW so heopfully this wont be a sad holiday for him or his family or anyone else on this forum for that matter.

It truely is a tragedy and one that should really have been a lot less severe if the countries other than Sumatra were warned as there was a 2 hour gap between the time it hit sumatra and the time it hit Sri Lanka and the other cournties.

Thats why we have a news section. Theres allready a thread in there. Anyway was 24,000 yesturday, sure its more by now.

when I heard penang was hit I was soooo thankful to god that my gf had left from penang with her family a few days before as she was holidaying there a couple of days before christmas... she rang me to ask me if I knew anyone affected, and all I could say was "thank god I've still got ya".

As for me n my fam its been a good christmas, no one that we know are directly affected. Apparently there's been a bit of mild flooding on the street outside our old house in colombo. My fam is mostly based on the western side of Sri Lanka which wasn't so badly hit.

Was wierd tho, we were all pretty amazed how ALL the lankans were workin together, disregarding the civil war that just seems to have passed. I guess it takes an act of nature to point out how small we are in the grand scheme of things and that its pretty stupid to be in a civil war over such a small island. Hope the feeling brings together all its people.

that's unbeleivable 100,000?

I'll be heading down to the Maldives mid Feb for my honeymoon, Just got news from the resort that it sustained no damage...thank god...My future in-laws just made the payment last week, there was a great chance that he wouldn't of been able to get a refund, if the resort had been destroyed.

Now I'm a bit worried if somethin happens when we're over there, cause we'll be in the huts that or on the water. Hopefully it'll be sweet I just wanna enjoy my honeymoon.

my heart goes out to the people who are suffering :D

they werent originally.... i think they were given some persuasion cause at first they only donated 10m.

bloody america... had to dip into the kentucky fried make'n everyone fat fund

    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
