Hi,

I have an adapter that came with my car. The thing is is that the car came with no headunit (removed somewhere between Japan and Aus). I have just purchased a new headunit and I'm not sure if the adapter will work? it has an Aus spec plug on it (aswell as some other kind) and the other end fits into the stock R34 antenna plug. Is this the same as a double diversity adaptor? Will I receive Aus radio stations with an aussie headunit and the current adapter I have?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Chris,

I just finished my install and everything is working fine :P

Here's a pic,

Thanks to you and Mark for your headunit removal thread and everyone else on SAU.

It's great to have somewhere to turn to to ask stupid questions and receive great advice.

Speakers are next so look out for more silly Q's!

Hi just wondering cos now i'm stump. The power antenna wire as it is said that this wire needs to be cut and connected if not the after market headunit will not work. So after cutting, to where do i have to connect it to?

And nother thing isthat mine came with the ""fm expander" and a red (power) wire connected to power the expander, but comes with the 2 pin antenna plug. I know i need to remove this as I'm fitting a pioneer HU. But what about the power antenna wire? After cutting it does it mean I need to join it to any power source or can i join it to the "ign source" from my head unit?

Cheers

Daniel

that will work fine. its the same one I sell.

Chris,

I also found one of these in my '33'. The extra lead, from memory, looked like a female antenna, is that right? .If so 4 what?? extra antenna, FM modulated CDplayer of something?

Anyone,

further up this thread someone mentioned the rear window antenna is 4 FM, does that mean the guard ant is 4 AM ????? (clean lines .. mmmm)

and whats the go with the areal lead, I mean the little cable suck to the bigger one, I'm thinkn 2 areal,2 leads or am I miles off

I've been curious about these for a while but never found anything.

I'll B putn a half decent stezza in sooner than later, and would like to get the ol mellon around a few things

hope that makes sense, (Trying 2 feed a 2Yr old and type)

Cheers

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
