I got my car retuned today after fitting a new fuel pump.

Outcome, I'm getting more power with richer fuel ratios and less timing!!!

post-19015-1138864723.jpg

To explain more,

The green line is the end result of the last tune with the DFA before I got the fuel pump replaced. We had to add fuel in up the top as the fuel pressure was not enough.

The blue line is when the fuel pump was put in.

The red line is the tne result from the DFA and fuel pump, we had to retard the timing as it was advancing up top due to pulling out fuel, and starting to ping. We had to add fuel in down the bottom to get it to 12:1, so I lost a bit there but you can really feel it pull hard at 4500.

Please note that the dyno is 10% pesimistic, and not done in shootout mode. Approx 183rwkw

Hey was wondering if anyone can help me out.. got the DFA built but having issue's to calibrating the unit..

It seems that TP2 reads -4.30V and OUTPUT reads -0.60V all the time, doesn't matter how much i play with the trimpots it wont change :P

ive had a look at the board but can't find any faults or maybe after looking at it so much im just overlooking it hehe,

attached some pics maybe someone can spot something?

Well there you go, I didn't know this!! I thought mine had shat it's self...

Am I right in saying that it's reponse is slow?

Chriso

Nope, it's response is reasonably fast. I get changing values through the consult interface about every 60mS, ie from one of my recent test runs (with my new program) (and ignore what units the boost etc are in) (and no, not a hard launch!) -

Hi guys,

This may seem like a stupid question, but I've searched all through this topic and the forums and can't seem to find the correct voltage range for a Skyline R33 GTS-T SII auto ECU. I *thought* I saw someone mention 0-5V. Is this correct? I may have the incorrect terminology here, but basically what I'm trying to do is set the voltage range for the DFA kit. So that's what I'm talking about :P

I have just tested my kits, except for the potentiometer test with the DFA, and I am completely amazed to find that everything has worked perfectly so far, first go! I say this because I've never built any kits at all, ever. So if I can do it, anyone can! I just made sure I double checked everything before I soldered it in, and went through the parts list beforehand and ticked everything off.

Also, if you want to look through extremely large threads like this one all in one page, a handy way to do it is to select Options > Print this topic (found at top RH corner of the page). I know a lot of people may already know this, but I just found it :D

I would also like to thank Sydneykid very much for helping me via PM's along the way, so I don't blame him for asking people to do a search before PM'ing him. I can only imagine how many PM's he would get every day, and he actually takes the time to carefully respond to them all without ever getting annoyed. So please search as much as you can before PM'ing him (guilty myself :) )!

HELP! HELP! HELP!

WOW! i just installed the boost controller and it works. it works a little too well. i just changed the plumbing of the wastegate actuator and solonoid to what SK had it on the 3rd page and no matter what settings i put into the unit, i cant keep the boost under 15 psi! dangerous... YES!!! what have i done wrong? any help would be great. have i plumbed it in wrong? i can post up some pics you like....

I need an ECU pin out diagram for the S2.

I printed a diagram from this thread somewhere which I believe to be for an R34 and it was obvious from the diag. of the centre mounting block which side is left and/or right. But when I pulled off the cover to my S2 Neo ECU there seems to be no discernable way to tell which end from which.

The pinout pattern looks almost identical though I cant be sure and I am not about do something silly and burn out a $2k ecu.

nope, the restrictor trick didn't work. im really stumped. im gonna try a different solonoid tomorrow. the only other thing i can think of is that i haven't wired into the solonoid properly..... anyone else come across this???

also, what settings are other people using? load points and duty cycle %. im just curious....

cheers

Hey Guys

Had the IEBC installed yesterday... (Thanks to Andy for it!) and today I finished the Hand Controller - I'm sorry to not look through all of the 39 pages of info, but when I plug the Hand Controller into the IEBC, I get light from the screen, but no readings etc.

What could be the problem?

Cheers

Chris

im sure theirs a contrast potentiometer in there somewhere. a blue rectangular thing with a little turning knob in the corner?

like one of these (maybe bottom left?):

Has anyone thought about using the Digital Pulse Adjustor to intercept the signal coming out from other sensor or going into other inputs?

Maybe to adjust the ignition timing?

Possibly to something about that protect mode where it richens up A/F mixtures to save the engine? (not sure how it works so I could be wrong)

Adjusting the point VCT kicks in? (or if you could graft the VCT onto the exhaust side and control that)

Just throwing a few suggestions in the air, it seems like this kit has alot of potential, please correct me if I am wrong.

    • @666DAN sorry to bring you and old thread.     I've got my de+t done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.    Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd when selected . But nothing when in  drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic. I'm sure there is maybe 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Do ya have any ideas?     Cheers man
    • Well I recently changed my rear axles and was thinking if I bumped anything, I have been driving the car for a while now though... But it has been raining today so everything is wet under the wheel arches. Brakes feel fine and can't hear any of the metal screamers, I had a squeak coming from one of the handbrake drums but that seems to have gone away a while ago. I was going down a hill when it lit up and I did feel the abs bite for a second and question why it did it?
    • Correct. Um. I dunno. I haven't cared enough about the way that the NA cars work to know for sure. But..... The 33/34 turbo manual cars have an electronic speed sensor in the gearbox that outputs a +/- (ie, sawtooth AC) voltage signal. That is connected to the speedo. The speedo then outputs a 0-5v square wave (ie, PWM) signal that the ECU (and any other CU on the bus) sees. The speed sensor is NOT directly connected to the ECU. So here's the problem. Your new ECU expects to see the PWM signal, but must somehow be getting a direct signal from the diff speed sensor. Which would suggest that the wiring of the NA car is not the same as the turbo cars. I think you will need to spend some time with (hopefully the wiring diagram for the car) and a multimeter to see what is connected to what. Then, presuming I am correct**, you would then want to separate the ECU speed signal input from the rest of the car's wiring, and probably either buy a speed signal converter, or build one using an arduino (or similar). That would take in the speed sensor signal and output a scaled (and suitably rearranged) signal for the ECU. ** We shouldn't presume that I am correct here, because there might be something else crazy going on. I don't think you could convert the speedo to be fed from the gearbox sensor, because the pulse rate from that sensor is probably different to the diff sensor and then the speedo would read wrongly. And this also wouldn't fix the ECU's problem either, because the ECU doesn't want to see the gearbox signal direct either (assuming that they are all on the same wiring, for some odd NA related reason, see above caveat!) Does this help? Probably not. Can you make it work? Almost certainly. With the above work. You should buy a handheld oscilloscope from Aliexpress so that you can view these signals directly. Connect up the probes and drive the car. Show photos of the screen when drving at known speeds and connected to different places, and we'll see what we can learn about it.
    • Assuming your brake pads are not worn right down, I'd add a little brake fluid. Is there any sign of a brake fluid leak?
    • Hello all,  I need of some help. On my drive home my handbrake light lit up and started flashing. When I got home I checked my handbrake sensor under the centre console and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I have scanned my car via the consult port, no codes shown. Checked my brake fluid as well which is half full. Tried unplugging the brake master but it didn't change anything. Thoughts on what it could be? The master float doesn't seem to be stuck. My car is an 1998 ER34 sedan GT. No hicas but has ABS Photos below 👇🏾
