SOLD

Some guy bought it on Tuesday. Which is kind of lucky since in the last 5 days I've spent $3k on: Sony 76cm widescreen HD tv, new dvd player, HD set top box.

I left the sticker on so they'll probably show up on here at some point.

Will be back one day when I've made some $$$ out of property.

And finally - I admit it - I like the 32s now too :)

Anyone wanting to get rid of a lancer for < $8k let me know.

Nice to meet you all, thanks for some good skyline times, see yas,

John

Just cause the car's gone, doesnt mean you have to, i shouldnt have mine for to much longer but you'd need to ram a pitchfork up my ass to get me away from the friends i've made on SAU (please dont go and get your pitchforks) Most of us have become a group of friends that share a common interest and its not so much about the cars anymore.

anyway nice met8ing you and good luck with property and if you ever need any advice dont hesitate to pm me.

ahhh sweet i've become the only silver SII from SAU ACT... (or am I?)

No congrats dude. Hope you got what you were asking!

I think the buyer was local, I ended up selling on consignment through EVO so I don't know much about the buyer. Some young guy with his Dad apparently. I think they got a good buy - just wish they'd come to me privately and I'd got all their cash instead of giving some away. Since I had to pay a commission I didn't get what I was hoping for, but it wasn't too much less and I was over waiting week after week.

I'm not going into the property business or anything, just wanting to save a deposit and stop renting soon.

Catch you round.

John

Bah, i'm not a 32, nothing like one.

Although, i have on the list at the moment a R32 GTR, but only for race purposes. i'm thinking once i'm settled down in my new career i'll get one and have a bit of fun.

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
