Yeah...polite is that what they call it?!?!

I went through Australian Insurance Brokers (they basically find the cheapest insurance for you) and they ended up getting me a quote for $2800 with famous classic cars...i was impressed!! Especially since my next best quote was with Just Cars for 5k!

I don't think they care how much its modified as long as its street legal, and you aren't insured between 11pm and 8am if you leave your car parked on the street - in a driveway/secure parking/actually being with the car is ok..... :D

Our friend Robyn used to work for the brokers that i used called Harringtons. She knows her cars ok and u can tell she actually gives a dam about u and ure car. They do good deals but it looks like due to my recent claim i am automatically unapplicable.:D

I hope to hell SGIO dont turn me down next year;)

Guys,

I have emailled Robyn last week regarding discounts for Skylines Australia members! She is more than happy to consider discounts on your premium if your a member!

Don't forget to mention the good word that's spreading around about them and say your a Skylines Australia member too!

This not only will help everyone else in a skyline but also everyone here on SAU!

-Kym.

If they insure in Vic id be very interested when i get my knew car. If they can get it under just cars quote ($2300) for a $15000 R32 GTST, for me (20, 30% or 40% no claims i think, no fines, no accidents) im in for sure.

its not happening here in WA yet.. so we can't be "paying members" of a car club to get a discount can we ?

We are all still members, we own skylines, stick together, to me that's a club. registered or not.

either way Robyn will still do a discount for us!

ANyway, how do u become a paying member of SAU? Or is that not happening yet?

ur from VIC... this will be up and running soon... give us a little more time as we have a few more things to sort out til we start accepting members.

obviously everyone will have to refer to their respective state commitee to find out where they are in the process.

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
