i'm pricing some yoko c/drive's and the avs sport v102s. apparently the v102s are just incredible in wet or dry and hugely responsive. i'm considering doing all 4 in the avs cos i'm due for tyres and the dicks over at my local rta reckon my current ones are unroadworthy... wankers. they've got a shiteload of meat on them!

i'll post my thoughts if/when i get them, but damn $400 a corner at mates rates! ouch!

Pair of random second handies (235/45/17) from Tempe Tyres, $70 a pair (fitted) with lots of meat.

Went back a few weeks later looking for more but talked to someone different and they said it was against their policy to sell seconds. Go Figure

I'm after some seconds in 235/40/17 if anyone has a set in their garage, my bro's BMW replaced his worn P Zeroes 40-series with 45-series and now it scrubs and chops up the tyres like crazy now. I'm in sydney(ish) :)

I would have to agree with 4door_Sleeper, I recently got some SO3's & they are the best tyres I've used in 12 years of driving - especially in the wet. I used to have Falken Azenis Pure Sport, but the SO3's seem to wear and grip alot better - but cost more. I would also like to hear a comparison between Michelin Pilot and the Bridgestone Potenza SO3's, including price.

265/40/18 Rear

235/45/18 Front -- I paid $2020 for these 4.

hey just doing a bit of reading on previous threads and spoke to a few people and wondering wat your thoughts on Nankang NS2's?

Rear $200 255/40/17

Front $140 235/45/17

Total of $680 for 4 tyres, do you think this would be the best tyre's for that amount of money? best 'bang for your buck' sort of thing? or are there other tyres of similar price that are superior?

Thanks,

paradizzle

5{ton]i ended up getting bfgoodrich (made by michellin) profiler g's in 255/40/17 on all 4 corners on my beast and thus far, i'm very happy with them. nice tyre in all conditions. and they cost me $309 a corner fitted and balanced.

has anyone else had these tyres? or heard much about them,

Sorry to dig up an oldish thread...but has anyone had any experience with Dunlop Direzza DZ101's?

I'm pretty much sick to death of the rubbish handling on my current Falken Z386's (they came with the car), so I've decided to put something decent on this time around.

They're fairly expensive unfortunately - I got quoted the following prices (which is the limit of my tyre budget!):

Front (255/45/17) - $314/tyre

Rear (255/40/17) - $400/tyre

They seem to have received good reviews, but I'm interested if anyone else has actually had any experience with them?

I considered Bridgestone S03's but they're more expensive then the DZ101's so i've ruled them out.

I've also got prices for Falken Azenis ST115's which are a lot cheaper than the DZ101's, but are they a comparable tyre? If so, then these may also be a possible (considerably cheaper) alternative. Does anyone have any experience with these tyres?

Finally, is there anything else I should also be considering in my price range?

Thanks for the help :)

Yeah I read the review on the Hankook's but i'm not overly convinced that I'll be happy with them. I think they seem very good for the price, although i'm guessing that they're still probably at the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to performance tyres.

Anyone had any experience with the DZ101's or ST115's? Any help on this would be great.

    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
