the airtemp sensor for the djetro kit is an optional part for some cars that done have a factory airtemp sensor

greenline have the part # on their website - check it out

you should use this on the 26 detro PFC and connect it to whatever the airtemp sensor wire is on the RB26 loom

as this will allow airtemp correction for intake temps, the sensor should be either in the plenum, throttle body piping or just after the intercooler

if it was me, i would put it just after the intercooler

for the twin map sensors im pretty sure you splice them into the AFM signal inputs on the RB26 loom

check the specific djetro manual and make sure you get it right, if you get it wrong you face shoritng out everything (throw it in the bin)

you can splice up the output from the map sensor and run it into both map sensor inputs on the RB26 loom to the PFC so both PIM-1 and PIM-2 have the same value

i would only see a need to run one map sensor on the Rb25 engine as i think the Rb26 uses twin map sensors as it previoulsy had twin afms so it was possibly to hard for apexi to recode the complete logic to suit 1 map sensor and because its got individual throttle bodies so it runs an average across both map sensors to get a more accurate reading, you shouldnt have this issue on rb25 as there is only one throttle body

the 02 sensor as its a RB26 PFC will expect R32/R33 GTR style sensor as you have GTST it wont work correctly

youll either need to run without 02 feedback completely or change your 02 sensor to the GTR style 02 sensor

if you go for NGK BNR32 style 02 sensor you can set "02 registered" in function select to run in BNR32 mode

otherwise get a GTR33 sensor and leave 02 reg off but have 02 feedback on and it should be ok as long as you have the same GTR33 sensor

you can splice up the output from the 02 sensor and run it into both 02 sensor inputs on the RB26 loom to the PFC so both 02-1 and 02-2 have the same value

thanks mate. Is there any bad side effects of running no 02 sensor with a djetro? Or would it be worth buying a gtr32 one?

hello i have a 95 nissan 240sx S14 the US version of the S14 silvia and i have recently installed a R34 NEO engine in it and i am running it witha power FC . i have since got it up and running and i am now in the tuning stages but i have unfortuantely stumled across another hurdle. in the snesor check function i have a highlighted sensor which i believe is for the traction control system. its labeld as THRM and its reading 5.11 volts...i nologer am running the factory intake plenum nor the factory throttel body i have installed a greddy plenum and a Q45 throttle body...if this is for the traction control system is there a way i can fool the Power FC to make the sensor light go away so i can finish tuning it and get it running the way i like it...please help me out guys...i am keeping my fingers crosses on this one...

thanks in advance

Mark

hi

this is also a question im intested in, i have also removed my tcs throttle body setup, now running greddy plenum ect. but now i need to fool the power fc somehow, or turn the feature off completly. is ther a way to do this through the hand controller?

thanks for the help...in advance and great thread.

i have replied to your pm - let us know when you find an answer ill add it to the FAQ

  • 2 weeks later...

and here is another question...

i put in my Power FC this arvo and followed the great manual that paulr33 has wrote... i put it in, did all of the idle instructions and then came time for a test drive... all went fine...

i jumped in the car about an hour later to go 2 ice hockey @ boondall and it gets there no worries (idles perfectly and response is good) but then it came time to leave and the engine check light came on... wasnt sure what to think at first... so i went to the sensor check page in the hand controller and discover the "THRO" sensor is reading 0V... thing is, drive for 200m and it goes away and a reading of approx. 0.5V is there... go around a corner and the light comes back on... drive a little bit more and away she goes... does anybody know why this is? only thing i could put it down to is either a dodgy sensor or shitty wiring sumwhere...

any ideas?

thanks in advance...

hmmm...

just got back from tafe... started the car and its idling high (1,350-1,400 rpm). im sitting there at the traffic lights waiting and the "check engine" light is on (yes the same sensor "THRO" - throttle is reading 0.00V) i sit there a little more and it goes away (THRO reading 0.43V and rpm down to 850-900) i drive away and no more then 1km up the road the light comes back on... 0.00V again... i stop at the next set of lights and reving high again...

when i take off with the throttle reading @ 0.00V the car doesnt feel right... when i take off with the throttle reading MORE then 0.00V i couldnt ask for anything better...

anyone else experienced this problem? ill probably put the sock ECU back in tmrw morning b4 i leave for tafe again unless anyone can diagnose what it could be...?

the throttle position sensor is loose or faulty

its going to 0.00v which is out of range, which is why the revs jump to 1500rpm and why the engine check light comes on

oh ok...

y have i never had this problem before with the stock ecu?

driving home from tafe 2day, i didnt see the engine light once (throttle sensor -> +-0.36V) but the car kept hunting... 800 jump to 1,400 drop to 800 jump to 1,400 and so on...

ive read the "My idle is really crappy and it hunts around a lot when on idle. What can I do?" in the FAQ, but why didnt any of these problems show up when i first connected the Power FC?

unplug the PFC and replug it back in - be sure you securely fasten it and its not loose

a lot of install problems come from the user not plugging in the harness plug correctly so some of the pins dont connect properly or they come loose easily with car movement etc

lol very true - I had a heap of wierd stalling problems once and stuffed around with everything under the bonnet, battery etc etc.

turned out to be the harness plug was not in straight and didn't tighten down properly. when I undid it and reset it was perfect

hey,

i am after the rb26 intake temp sensor. I rang nissan and he said they dont have them. I rang back and said it should be near the plenum (am i right?) and he said there is a sensor on the plenum and it is called a "Engine coolant temp sensor" and it screws into the plenum. Nissan part number is 22630. Cost is $96.

Does that sound right or is it a different part? I have searched all over this site, cannot find a part number anywhere. I emailed greenline too cause i couldnt find it on their site and they said they dont have them, nor do they stock OEM parts... so im confused.

cheers

ok guys im still fairly new so hoping to get some help

i have a 95 r33 with 2530, fmic, 3" zorst, pod filter and power fc.

now i had it tuned 3 weeks ago no probs it ran fine only prob is that i am getting no more than 250km to a full tank?!?!

also can smell how rich it is running!

now i paid top $$$ for my tune and dont wish to fork out again because the made an error.

also the INJ setting is set to 130% across all 6 injectors is that safe? have only been driving very light load as it is daily

car and would like best economy but 24L/100km isnt right at light load is it??

hi shane

fuel economy and complete tune issues are covered in the faq - have a look at the top for the document index

it covers the issues you are having with poor fuel economy.

what injectors do you have? do you have stock ones? i see no need for %130 correct on std injectors

maybe the tuner had some alternate strategy but most tuners dont touch injector correction unless larger injectors are fitted

    • (Rb25det intake manifold) I’m having a hell of a time trying to find the full part or part number of this coolant hardline so far I was given these (Below) but they aren’t what I’m looking for and was told it’s the IAR or aac valve but that doesn’t seem to be it either. If someone could point me in the right direction it’d be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone has it for sale that’d be great too. I have recently purchased a greddy manifold and I can’t seem to find my old one to pull it off.  (Front Heater Return / Water Pipe (under intake): Primary part: 14053‑21U10 (front return pipe assembly for R33/R34 RB25DET) Alternative listing: 14053‑21U00 (same pipe, sometimes interchangeably referenced)   Heater Feed Pipe: Listed as 14075‑04U00 or feed-related variant 14053‑AG500)
    • This sounds cool. But, as per usual, anything really complicated like that, that I take on, constitutes a steep learning curve that I never actually "learn". I just get it working, install it and start using it. Then, when it breaks a few months later, I've got no memory of what I did, how I did it, or even the bloody IP address I gave it. I'm having more or less exactly that problem right now. My Proxmox machine was discovered to be non-responsive, and the VMs on it were ditto. Power cycle it to a stream of loud Dell beep codes - which was unpopular at midnight, I can tell you. Move it to the lounge room so I can HDMI it to the TV for a screen, see the boot messages complaining about the /PVE/data having all sorts of LVM problems, saying it needs to be fixed manually. And I'm like....great. How am I going to work out what I need to do? At least it wasn't the stupid Silicon Power SSD shat itself. Mental note for all readers - DO NOT BUY SP SSDS! They are shit. I have had one take out an entire VM setup already, and this one could have done the same. Maybe it actually has. Cheap Chinesium shitbaskets. I won't cheap out again, even on play projects with no budget. Because my time budget having to fix shit is worth far more than the cost of proper parts.
    • I do typically agree. These days even the screens most people use have more of a boot time than the main device. However, I've seen an interesting use of the RPi in vehicle, however it involves effectively building your own OS and MBR, as then it boots up exceptionally quickly, as you don't have everything needing to start up, and you can then also run it up as an RTOS, while still having more compute than an Android can give for things like display, and processing. A very huge task that would be though for Duncan, I'm not sure that's his skill set (or Arduino programming and wiring) ha ha. If end goal is definitely just water cooling, Arduino would be the simpler setup especially for a rookie. If he wants extra display stuff though, bashing some code in Python on an RPi may be the better result for both systems.   Unfortunately the new device I'm building at work which runs a display, is too slow of a display for dashboard style purposes. More extreme low power, update only a couple of times a day type system
    • I don't like "actual computers" for in car use. They take time to boot up, have OS annoyances, and so on. Arduinos etc are ready to go a few seconds after power on, don't mind being agressively powere cycled, because everything is non-volatile, don't mind being shaken and stirred.
    • As Fred would tell us, it's all about interpreting the rules. It's not a water sprayer, it's a water mister... But everything else you've said, 100%! Even a raspberry Pi would be great, use HDMI out for a display, and add a raspberry Pi CANBus hat to read values out from the ECU.
