don't listen to them! one owns a GTST and has a faggy looking avatar that is actually his self potrait :tool:, the other one owns an MR-2 what more needs to be said about him? :uhh:

Like Lwells said, look at the import forum. call www.prestigemotorsport.com.au or www.j-spec.com.au

to be honest you may have missed the boat on a cheap R32 GTR (due to new legislation) but you can still get one.

GTRs are tha shiznit. do it...

edit:silver and tosh, no offence intended, just protecting the GTR name! :uh-huh:

its ok i get the jealousy thing all the time

that's ok, at least it's a skyline. hell most places you go people will think it's a GTR anyway! it could be worse... you could own an MR-2.

if we are talking about a top shelf 89 GTR vs a top shelf S15 then yes I would.

well if its a top shelf 89 gtr then the year 89 would be irrelivant and i would choose the GTR too

but if we're talking about 2 stockers i would go for the s15 just for the peace of mind

How many "top shelf" '89 GTRs have you seen? :D :D

Going on a blanket rule, and judging by the condition of AVERAGE '89 GTRs and AVERAGE S15s, I'd take an S15 in a heartbeat.

That said, there are some very nice '89 GTRs, but they're much much much rarer than very nice S15s :)

Well obviously a car that's had 15 years of "average" treatment is not going to be as fresh as a car with only 1-4 years of equivalent treatment.

My 89 R32 GT-R is almost stock, but its in very good condition. S15 is sweet, but I wouldn't want to swap :D

Bingo.

That's exactly why unless it was an EXCEPTIONAL '89 GTR, I'd take the S15 over it without hesitation.

I can only talk about my experience. My friend has a very nice near stock S15 with low kays. I have an 89 GTR. No way in the world would I swap him. yes the S15 is newer. yes it's a more modern car with a much sleeker look. but it's not a GTR...

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
