Handbrake Switch

I have brought a second hand indash screen and control box but with no wiring instructions and the bit I am having problems with is the wire to the Handbrake switch and how it's supposed to be connected? Does the wire get earthed out or receive power? The unit is an Alpine CVA-1000E and if someone can get me the wiring diagram would be great.

download the pfd from the alpine website. if you cant get the one for your headunit get one for the latest model, it will have a wiring diagram in it (not for the car) but it will tell you how "not" to set it up so that you can bypass the handbrake switch part, thus being able to use functions while driving.

just ground the wire. it will work then.
