That time of year again fellas.

MAS is the end of April so we gotta get onot it now. And get ready. No last minute stuff this time. Too much hassle for everyone.

So with that said.

Here are the details.

If you dont come to regular meetings, you wont be in... save for special circumstances (ie. your from geelong)

Date: Tuesday; 22/03/2005

Venue: Bell's Hotel, 157 Moray St, South Melbourne (Cnr Moray St & Coventry St Melways Ref - 57, G1)

Time: 8pm

What do i need?

Ideas mainly.

People that can offer things to come forward

I'm taking a list of those interested.

And going over the basic aim we want to achieve this year. Also assigning early tasks and making a few important decisions about the display etc :(

***UPDATE*** 16/03

1) Venue now decided

2) Only SAU-Vic members will be able to participate

This was decided as we are a club entry, and SAU-Vic will be paying for things, and they are member only benefits.

3) Anyone that was at the GrandPrix AutoSalon show is entitiled to a $60 entry fee

If you did not attend not, the fee will be less than $100

4) In relation to cars, easy. Most people will be in unless we get too many and have too crop.

So everyone should rock along.

5) Have a think now of all your ideas. I've got a few from last night. But Tues will play a big part in deciding our direction.

6) All Entrants must be paid by April 1 to qualify for cheaper entry. If not late entries will be $20 higher

well you know i'm in!! Mad rush to get the car ready in time...hehe

I'll come to the meeting (22/3) and will try to make it to as many others as i can, but if i cant make it and have other ideas/suggestions, i'll just post em here or let you know ash.

hopefully with enough interest and orginisation, should be a great club stand, would be nice to see Sau VIC win one of the "club awards" an bring a trophy home

:)

hay ash what about the slide show of joels that was great and we could have it playing on a tv or something showing off the club a bit? Also the one of snowman ride was awsome and should mayb have a feature on the stand next to his car it would just look great

Just finished filling my SAU VIC membership form, now I'm ready to contribute!

I'd be interested in coming along and helping out , any ideas from last nights meeting on a location for March 22? I like the idea about the projector, we could also hire a good plasma screen for cheap and play a Skyline DVD. Big pics and big screens would look sweet!

How many SAU VIC cars will be involved? I heard you guys had a great stand last year!

B :Bang:

I can personally vouch for RON's R32 GTR, it is by far the cleanest and most immaculate 32 I have seen to date. Absolutely awesome!

Unfortunately i don't think my car will be painted and upgraded  in time, so i will give this a miss. Will help out though.

This year the load will be taken off the usual couple of people and shared amounst all entrants, so if ya want to enter be prepared to help out .

i can put my car in but youve already seen it and its boring

will come to the meeting for some beer and a chat but no point having my car

more cars the better.

we are going for a BIG stand.

we want as many members as we can possibly get

its a bit of work involved and youll need someone who can print like a4 prints out on good quality printout but perhaps for each car have some info about it and things like model, special features, owners comments etc. not everyone know what a series 3 vspec is and what the r32 gts-r had different to the gts etc. even just simple things like engine and mods i wouldnt know what half the mods are in most cars. i think melbccr had a similar thing like tihs for each car they had a blurb about it on a poster card standing in front of the car. if you want all the members cars in or the vast majority thats a lot of space. will cabin be ok if we want to enter so many cars?

Im hoping to have my car ready by then.

Who do i see/PM to become an official SAU member?

ADZMAX is it u? well u have pm :)

Also NISMOID, whats the absolute final cut off date for entry forms/money?

Im gonna be scrapping for time.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
