First ride r33 GTST auto - went sliding around and generally hurting the rear treads, first ride in GTR was about a month later.

First drive of a GTR on a track was about 2 months ago (eventhough i slid it off the track). I own one today.

These things are addictive

  • 1 year later...

My first drive was an R33 GTST with pod, fmic, HKS 25/30 turbo, Apexi FC, 3" exhaust. I drove it to my mechanic to check it over prior to purchase. The thing was mad in 1st off the lights, and the noise the pod made was amazing, like some beast heavy breathing. On the way home I agreed to buy the car and have now owned it 2 weeks. The way the boost comes in in 1st and 2nd is staggering, and 3rd gear overtaking from 100km/h always brings a grin :P

First ride in a skyline was when a friend brought one round my house so another friend could look at buying it...

It was a 32 GTR that had just had about 15K spent on new garretts, racing exhaust, dumps, pods, Power FC, EBC, suspension and rims and a few other bits and pieces.

He gave it a bit of shit down the coast and the thing just gripped to the road like glue. I was amazed at how fast we were going, but still how safe and secure i felt.

The handling was tops and it felt as though he wasnt evel braking around corners. The speed scared the shit out of me and he was a nuts driver.

When we got back to my house, the idle & growl was awesome, sounded as if it just wanted to be raced and punished.

My other friend assured he wanted to buy it, and as the guy drove off, i knew i was going to buy one.

He ended up sellin it to another guy as my mate couldnt come up with the money, and i ended up buyin one about a year later. Mine doesnt feel like his as it has minimal mods, but i love the thing to pieces.

It will be faster one day.

First drive was in a 97 GTS-t, unimpressed generally.

2nd drive 93 GTS-t far superior to the 97, started thinking about buying one.

3rd drive 98GTT, highly impressed.

4rd drive purchased my 96 GTR, Not the torque I'm used to but the top end is attractive.

First drive in a Skyline was in an old mates R32 Gtst that had forgies, haltech, T3/T4 hybrid turbo. Thing was seriously insane. About 6 months ago i went test driving and came across a completely stock mint 97' R33gtst at Northshore Prestige. Had a spin and it was awesome. 2 days later it was mine :(

Back in 02 i was looking for a nice import.

Went to a few jap importer yards and test drove a 2 cars i liked

One was a R33, the other was a R32

Both had minor mods - exhaust and cat back - neither felt too exciting at all (I figure now that they must have been crap examples)

Ended up buying a 180sx and modding that

After going through a few cars after that, it was once again time to step into an import - after more reading up about Skylines, i decided to try my hand again. Fortunately the one i bought was much much better in comparison to the 33 and 32 i test drove at the yards

I have done basic mods so far and LOVE IT. I love everything about the car - the look, the sound, the performance

I cannot understand the "myth" as i like to call it, in regards to the R33's. After owning mine for a few months i think its one of the best imports out there. easy to drive daily, comfy, plenty of potential.

I much prefer it to the 180sx (and i loved that car)

My first drive in a Syline was my GTR, bought it while on lunch at work :D, as I was driving it back to the office I saw an R33 GTR across the lights from me at the top end of Perth.

I got used to it very quickly on the test drive earlier that day and have loved in ever since.

My first time in a skyline.

We were both 18 and had been seeing each other for a while...

ohh wait.

First time riding in a skyline was my mates r33. Only had a catback exhaust to our knowledge but was making 177 rwkw. Just when the boost came on the pull was so incredible bought the biggest smile to my face.

A few months later i bought my r34 having only seen 1 in the flesh once and having never driven one.

First time in a Skyline..

Probably about 2 years ago.. Standard R33 GTS-T.. didnt do anything for me at the time..

Since then I've owned a VN SS commodore, a 6 speed VX SS.

Went for a ride in a 32 GTS-t on Saturday... Bought a different one on Sunday..

Pick it up on thursday

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<,,

Cant wait.. slowest week of my life!!

First time was around 7-8 yrs ago. R33 GTSt. Had no idea what to expect cause the only common place to see a Skyline back then was on playstation. Went more out of curiosity than thinking of buying one. Highly modified, dropped to the floor. The guy pulled out of a car yard, and just lit them up through chatswood.

Went to the bank and organised a loan on the spot.

  • 3 weeks later...

The first time I rode in a Skyline it was sweet as. Loved it when the boost kicked in. Felt like I was getting squashed back into the seat.

The second Skyline I drove I bought! Stock except for heavy duty clutch. Was very surprised as how easy it was to drive!

My first time was two days ago and it was an R32 GTS4 Sedan that I had bought sight unseen. The auto is missing 3rd, 4th and reverse, but the first two gears were alot of fun.

By next week it will be a manual. That is the only mod at the moment, but there are a whole lot comming. Tein coilovers, High flowed turbo, 3.5 inch exhaust and 18 inch rims. All the parts are all bought and ready to go. Why mess around?

First time in one was in 1994. BRAND NEW R32! A rich friends dad let him drive it to this party. I sat in the back and was driven around with 3 other guys (crazy as the driver didnt have a licence!). I have been in love ever since.

After reading these forums for 3 years and dreaming about even being a passenger in one, let alone driving one i took a chance 8 months ago and bought a skyline over car sales, didnt even get to see the car....stupid i know but i had a feeling and went with it...the guy reversed it off the truck and i jumped in my first skyline...from the moment i put my foot on that accelorator i knew id made a mad ass decision then i snapped second oh man....ive still got the same ass stupid grin i had that morning on my face as im typing this now

My first time in a Skyline was in a non turbo, which was ok. Then fast forward some time later and i took a R34 GTT for a test drive, it had exhaust, pod and cooler. I was just blown away by the stiffness of the car, steering and of course exciting boost that came on as i tested the beast. Just feeling the ass of the 34 twitch as youv'e given it some more pedal in the right gear and then whoooosh away was pure excitement and fun...fun enough to keep driving past the dealership :(

now i simply want one.

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
