do the same thing for approx 4-5 laps and then come back and say its working the same

And abo bob, isnt your turbo blown at the moment?

don't quite get your drift.

I said 12psi fine for the street. My boost spiked due to bad installation of AVC-R and this was on the track.

Yes my turbo is busted.

7 psi - 8 psi = stock boost.

I'm running .8/.9 bar on street, it's fine really.

It all depends on your luck guys, but to be safe MAX BOOST for our stock turbo is .8 bar which is 12 psi and I agree with Abo Bob

Abo Bob should share his technique to get 13.8 with such a low mph :) Will you?

Erik

if someone gives it a bit of stick on the street @ 12psi for a few mins... there will be sadness. Say your doing a mountain run or something.

short fast bursts is ok...

I don't believe a standard GTT can run 14.1 secs, that comes from my experience.

I run 14.8 with exhaust and filter , with an addition of 9/10 psi boost and safc2 I can run 13.9 so yeah.

I don't want to start anything  Peace

im sure it can run better than basically a 15

itll be driver.

and extra 2psi, and a fiddle with an saf-c will not gain you a whole second on the 1.4

sorry to revive an old thread, but im looking to buy a R34, and a mate has a 99 wrx and he has been running 14 PSI on a stock turbo for a year now, yet i read R34 turbos blow up at 10 psi??

why is that?? also if you put a bigger turbo do you have to change anything else?? I want to run atleast 14 psi, so i can atleast match his wrx lol

wow this thread has been revived from like 3years ago, just thought id add in i ran 1 bar in my old rb20, full exaust, ca18det side mount (rb20 in a 180) and i didnt treat it very nice somtimes and it held up, so i think its just luck, but yeh if you dont want to test your luck then stay below 10psi

Simple = WRX turbos are not ceramic.

Wanting to "run" 14psi is a silly thing mate, shows you need to learn a little bit more.

Different turbos flow more than others at a given psi. Wanting a turbo change "just" to run 14psi, silly.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
