My best time is 1:16. Went out yesterday but only managed a 1:20 (consistant tho).. My brake pads where cheap and nasty (aka.. fadeeee so I was braking very early)... plus my tyres can't put the power to the road or grip well under brakes.. all in all not too bad at all! merli is right, its easier to drive a slower car fast! My accerator pedal was like a handbrake!

I had a ball.. Was a little frustrated about the brakes being spungy and a bit meh but the car was running better than it ever has! Was weird to be back out on the track, its been a while.

I will swap out the pads for sbs ceramic pads, flush the fluid again (did it on saturday) and then throw on some decent tyres and aim to better my 1:16.. which should not be too hard.

Bendix are a street pad, they hold up to wakefield park "okay" but you need to give them a rest every few laps.

however they chew the rotors ALOT more than most other pads. So yeah you save on pads but your rotors wont last as long.. meh

I used race brakes RB74 and they where fantastic, the sbs are better again. You get what you pay for, i was racing on $150 pads on the weekend and will change to the sbs pads ASAP!

With the rb74's my car was on the track at wakefield for a full hour (first me driving 20 minutes, then someone else then me again.)

for that kind of money you may as well fork out another $30 for Project Mu HC Titan Kai Pads. One of THE BEST pads you will ever come across and that's speaking from first hand experience. They work from cold and are rated to 800 Degrees. This is awesome for a performance pad considering Endless's top of the line CC-R pads work in a heat range of 150 ~ 800 Degrees.

Project Mu pads are also readily available in Australia.

On the topic of brakes, Race Brakes now distribute a brand called Galfer. They make Braided Brake Lines for around $450 for a full set. Very good lines and well worth the money to improve your pedal feel.

on brakes I just fitted a set of Nismo lines I picked up in japan. having previously bought aus made ADR approved lines I can say that the nismo ones are much nicer still. they are a teflon line covered by a stainless steel braid which is then sheathed in teflon covering. this prevents dirt working into the braid which can be a problem. oh and they were about half that $450 price....

also I bought some Endless brake pads whilst in japan which I'll whack in this week. the GTR already has endless pads on the rear and I dunno whats on the front. it stops very well but needs 1 or 2 stops when cold to start working.

I have previously found the Endless pads to be excellent. have also tried some project mu's but can't remeber which type (they have quite a few). they were quite good too.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.

Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
