Alrighty - biting the bullet and going for the Masa kit - but can anyone tell me how to order it?? Dont think Masa themselves ship overseas - so how do I go about buying it and getting it over here??

This is their page: http://www.masamotorsports.com/

You will more than likely need to find a buyer in japan... or someone in aus that has a buyer in japan... or you could send me on a holiday to japan and I will buy it for you.

It would be very cool to do but all I can say is I hope you have a lot of $$$.

Yeah - hence 'biting the bullet'... full kit is $2300... plus buyers fee, plus shipping, plus duties, plus GST, plus fitting, plus painting... *sigh* - but it'll be so nice :)

Any1 know a buyer in Japan??

$2300.00 is that all (cheap even with all the other stuff added) I was inform that it would be around the 10G's Maybe a group buy LOL

cheers ICE

Probably wrong - have been many times before lol :)

Just going off their website and an email I got back from them.... but it probably doesnt include the headlights and stuff - dunno will find out soon and let u know.

I'm guessing that is just the MASA panels - bonnet, guards, front bar... I imagine you'll have to get GTR front rad support, bumper reo, headlights etc etc

I think that R34 headlights are 400ish each from Nissan... ?

Yeah hard to work out - if you look at their site - see the picture of the kit parts at the bottom, with the arrow beside it and the characters "パーツ内容"... that translates to "Kit contents". Well the "6 pieces" Kit Price is also on the site as 239,400 yen - but thinking about it thats probably the pieces with the stars beside it - which all translate to body panel names... so yeah - they must charge extra for the mounting parts and headlights etc... hmm - no matter... ITS MINE REGARDLESS!!!!! ;)

Gonna need the stock panels myself it seems - Spent the day in at the inspection centre talking to inspectors, then phoning engineers, and finally speaking to the head honcho who issues "in principle" approvals to procede with modifying the body panels of a car.... and the result - bloody new ADR requirements. Turns out that NO car made after 1996 can have a non-original replacement front or rear bumper or bonnet or fenders fitted... UNLESS the proposed replacement panels are submitted by an engineer to a full ADR crash test - yep thats right Id need to buy a MASA kit - fit it - SMASH my car engine and all at 60km/h - then IF all is ok they can approve THAT body kit only for application to Stageas in future LOL.

This applies across the board - gave the boys at the spoiler places a shock - all the aftermarket bumpers they fit to 96+ Skylines and Lancers and Echos etc lol - none of them have been crash tested and are defectable. But before 96 model cars you can fit whatever u like to it - apart from carbon fibre bonnets which are defectable no matter what.

BUT I'M DOING IT ANYWAY - just means if I get defected I have to book it in to have the entire kit removed and stock panels put back on - pass pits - refit MASA - rinse and repeat ;)

Hasn't put me off - can live with the possibility of getting defected ... body-kit places reckon Id be unlucky if they did me for it - so only enquiry left that could stop me is the insurance company - gotta check they'll permit it... wish me luck!

good luck!

That is a really strange rule that I bet a lot of people have never even heard of. I can understand why they would do it for safety reasons and such but still... Does this just apply in WA or other states as well?

Hopefully you wouldn't need to modify too much to get the kit to fit so then if you did get defected it would be a fairly easy swap.

Australia-wide coz its laid down under the Australian Design Rules. But yeah - thats what Im hoping - that the change of bumper support and panels and headlight is relatively easy - but still likely to be a good 6 hrs professional labour - $400 odd bucks a time - so I think I'm gonna have to get to know how to swap it myself to save $ and do it in a weekend every time I get defected.

Man this is gonna be hard to do in a hurry... got a few seperate emails back from Japanese enquiries saying MASA going down hill and really hard to deal with lately, and now a really bad regard inside the industry in Japan... problems with supply, quality etc... but I'm gonna push on regardless!

Actually thinking of combining two kits - coz I find the MASA skirts and ass-end too bulky and blocky...

Yeah - not my thing... so instead I am gonna go for the TakeLows Vol 2 rear bumper with carbon fibre rear-bar diffuser, and skirts and door panels:

Then yeah the MASA front end... with the more expensive fenders - seen here on the white MASA kitted Stagea on the left - never been able to make the detail out on the Black kit - but those vents etc look wild!

And yeah - not sure if I'm gonna stick with yellow - or switch to bayside blue like in my signature.... whatcha reckon???

Stay yellow without a doubt!

Those sideskirts are a must! They are damn awesome for the car and dont stick out at all, their the only sideskirts ive seen that work with the car! :(

Which skirts? - i hope u mean the Takelows ones - not the MASA ones?

The TakeLows dont stick out coz you can buy those door panels as well that go half way up the door :P Only problem I am thinking is how the sideskirts will fit up with the MASA front fenders.... looking at the fenders on the white MASA, I might need some custom work done to the TakeLows skirts to match them up... aargh its never easy :P

    • An update regarding the registration with the DVLA I sent off the paperwork the day after I collected the car from the port, two weeks later it was all returned with a letter explaining they have rejected the application. This was because the cheque was £20 short for the road tax (I used a price list I found online). Nevermind it is what it is, it was sent back to them the following day with a new cheque. Fast forward another 2 weeks or so, I called them for an update to be told it had been rejected. Yesterday (16th September) I received the documents back along with another letter, this time it was because I didn't put an X in one box on the V750 (personalised number plate certificate), which declared that I had the rights to the personalised number plate. Why this wasn't mentioned in the first rejection letter, I don't know, but it could have saved this headache. The documents were sent back today, so fingers crossed third times a charm and it'll FINALLY be registered on the road just in time for the bad weather (woohoo!) To cheer myself up I lowered the front 25mm, was sick of seeing it sit like a monster truck. No idea how much clearance I'll have getting on and off the driveway, I'll worry about that when I can actually drive it
    • You're going to miss not worrying about rust in the strut towers like the Skyline shitboxes out there
    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
    • GT-R clearly the better choice! The 300 is certainly not insaly fast but has a decent amount of poke. Does a nice little drift around the corners with a decent amount of throttle. It's VERY predictable in a slide too.  Feels so progressive! People probably presume there's a 25 year old driving it based on my behaviour this week! 🤣
    • Yeah Jap import. Fairlady Z then! I'm a bit the same.  They've been on my radar for a fair while but then just impulsively decided to buy one!  Was going to just buy an NA and add turbos to it later but decided to save the f'ing around and just buy the turbo version.
