xenon globes i think have this like graphite type rod running down the lengh of the globe, not connected to the glass bit, but running parrelel with it...

That's what the dud bulb I have is. Definitely xenon as it is a Panasonic D2S-35W. Philips ones are about US$75 replacement, the only thing annoying about that is shipping time.

When my HID globe went i rang nissan and was quoted $350.

I ended up getting a globe from nissan which was out of a new renault for $200.

Xenon Light Type D2R

#472267.

Phillips 85v 35w

It needed a clip cut off but works fine

Also does a R33 GTR series 3 high beams and low beams come on at the same time when the high beams are turned on ?

Xenon bulbs are good now thanks to ferni. Cheers Andrew.

Problems ( :) ):

1. I am missing parkers altogether! Who the hell removes them?! So I need bulbs and the holders to clip into the factory power lines. Does anyone know what holders are the same? Do any other Nissan models, for example, have the same holders? Need them for both sides so I don't even have something to go on.

2. Low voltage power for driver's side head lamp is not getting to the relay at all. It is definitely that as running high voltage straight through flickered the low beams. I have checked fuses in the engine bay and under the dash (only what appeared to be 'battery' ones - 7 of them). Does anyone know where I can get a fuse box layout diagram in english? Or is there any other fuses at all?

The Us 75/pair delivered? How about warranty?

Not sure. I found them on a website, not sure if that includes delivery. Or warranty. Looks up the bulb type in google and you'll come up with something.

Anyone have any ideas for my problems...? :)

Hey mate, have a look in this PDF for fuse translations...

http://gtr.ferni.net/misc/skylinebook.pdf

There are 3 fuse boxes i think, one under bonnet, one in cabin (drivers side) and one in the boot.

Parker bulbs are easy to find/get... standard wedge ones.. as for the clip in stuff, hmmm i'll PM the guy i sold my old headlights to, he damaged his in an accident but chances are his clip in things are still ok, maybe he can sell them to you?

Edit: I sent him a PM, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p?showuser=9963

I'll check the fuse box in the boot now I guess!

Interesting that the holders/clips are missing altogether, very stupid that they weren't at least returned to their spot without a bulb.

Thanks for all your help with this Andrew. Much appreciated!

Are R34 Xenon bulbs the same as the R33 GTR bulbs? If so, I have 4 that I would be willing to part with. Not 100% sure if they all work as I don't have any Xenons to test them on, but I AM certain that atleast 2 of them are perfect.

Anyone in Brisbane northside want to test them for me?

Green? Mine are the same bulbs you have, and look half between the white xenon colour and standard halogen yellow colour.... maybe a bit more on the white side, but my old bulbs were definatly whiter... but i read they need some time to wear in to give that white colour, which is why most people change both at once if one blows.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
