Federal EVO was a really good performer in the dry - it's wet scores led to it's last placing. All tyres were explained to be very good (no sh1tters this year).

So who offers cheap Federal 595 EVO tyres?

Does the evo differ much from the ss? ie. in compound/tread pattern etc? I have the ss which I find quite good for a street tyre, and would be intrigued to know the differences.

The 595EVO is a step up from the regular 595 in terms of dry traction, lateral grip and progressive feel.

The 595 is more of a street tyre designed for just about any street car driver looking for a grippy tyre for the right price and it has proven to be a great performer.

The 595EVO was designed to be used on "tuner" cars and more high performance street cars such as Skylines, Supras etc and has bigger tread blocks to give a stiffer tread face (for less tread squirm) and a slightly stronger casing designed to give a more stable "footprint" under extreme loads.

The treadwear on both the 595 and 595EVO are very similar so you can expect good life from them (if you look after them).

You might find that you are unable to get 595EVO's in your vehicles sizes - this is because the official release of the 595EVO isnt planned until early 2009, however there are some sizes currently available.

The EVO has a treadwear rating of 240 and isnt really comparable to the Toyo R1R, whereas the RS-R has treadwear 140 which is the same as the Toyo R1R.

Through our own testing in the Drift Australia series we have found that the 595RS-R offers almost identical grip (if not more due to lower void ratio) than the Toyo R1R, they're also both about the same price - for example: 235/45R17 RRP R1R=$323.00, 595RS-R=$325.00

Ive just put some Federal 595RSR's on the rear of my 350kw skyline (i also put some 595RS's on the front), and the grip they provide is phenominal. Ive never experienced such a grippy tyre, and the increased corner speed actually caused some oil surge problems with my engine (its fixed now though). My standard coils are also misfiring under the increased load placed on the engine (the rears would just light up before). So ive opened up a whole new can of worms with the use of these tyres, so im gonna sell them before i break some drive shafts! :)

It sounds stupid i know, but i can afford to stuff around with these problems at the moment; but these tyres would be awesome on a suitably powered car where the increased grip didnt push the limits of the drivetrain. Maybe im being paranoid, i tend to do that.

Anyway, while ive got your attention, ill plug my tyres:

235x45x17 RS's Treadwear of 180 - 100% tread

255x40x17 RSR's Treadwear of 140 - 100% tread

RRP is $1190, im asking for $900 for the set. Theyve done 100km maximum. Theyve still got the little rubber wobbly things on them and the paint markers on the tread! I can provide pics if interested.

Looking at replacing the tyres on my 32 (stock rims). The previous owner fitted them just before i bought the car 1.5yrs ago. obviously going with some cheapies. Falken ze326's. first impression was there terrible. Done x2 'skid pan' track & there were uselss. got on the forums and found i wasnt the only one. Had to let them down to 25psi @ the drags to get traction (mild power setup/stock turbs) to achieve a 1.9 60footer.

The cars only used maybe once a weekend. Has a lot of suspension work done with qaulity gear but is limited by these p.o.s tyres.

Grip / dry handling is the priority. Car never sees the wet.

Have spent a lot of time reading and have decided between the toyo r1r & the 595rs-r.

Read grip levels are very similar but which has the stiffer sidewall? kind of leaning towards the rs-r due to less 'grooves' in the tyre, so the rubber would move less under cornering??

Well I'm sure that everyone knows what I would recommend... :blush:

But both the R1R and RS-R have steel reinforced sidewalls, 140 treadwear rating, they're both around the same price and are overall very grippy tyres.

If there is one main difference it is that the RS-R has a lower void ratio, meaning that the tread blocks are bigger and therefore stiffer, giving you more tread on the road and less squirm in cornering.

soon it will be time to get decent shoes for my car, was wondering whats recommended or suitable to R32 GTR.. will be on 17's and looking at 235/245 - 40 profile..

unsure of the prices and differences between good performance tyres (apparently compound).. looking for something around $200 at each corner.. great dry road performance and good wet performance.. 90% street use

please help.. whats my options??

I put on Bridgestone Adrenaline RE001 at ~$180 a corner for 225/50/R16 (red hot deal that one), and from pricing things up 235/45/17 was about the same price as my size so I'd expect you'd find them for $200 a corner without too much trouble.

Good grippy tyre, can still spin/slide in the wet but I think I'm being unrealistic asking for more in a tail-happy RWD car :)

Certainly grips well in the dry and brakes well in the wet. Feels very confident on the freeway in torrential rain so that's good enough for me.

Just brought a C34 RS4-S stagea and had to put new tyres on for roadworthy. Purchased a set of Federal SS595 235/45/R17 largely based on Bullet32's effort in selling them in this thread.

Cost $154 each fitted and balanced, seem quite good so far for a sporty road tyre.

i have been running some maxxis 265/35/18 on my r33 and they got ripped to shreds although they did grip well

they wore heavily on the inside beacuse my wheels had been cambered negative to fit under the arches,

does this mean i need to get a camber kit or some sort of product to make them wear flat or is it something ill have to deal with?

Ive currently got Potenza RE050A 222/40/R18 all round on my 34. Tread is starting to get low, bout 4mm on rears and 6mm on fronts. I love these tyres and want to continue to use them so my question is.

Do bridgestone stock these in Aus or do we have to import them like some ppl do for certain tyres.. Tried searching here and on the net, about as useful as pulling teeth..

If i do have to get a set imported is it even legal and can u point me in the right direction..

Finally got around to fitting some Toyo R1's in 225/50/16. Incredible tyre, by far my favourite i've driven on a road car. Car now steers so much quicker & a lot more feel through the wheel & obviously excellent grip. Car has a host of suspension upgrades, before with the old tyres you'd feel them roll/squirm, now the suspension gets worked a lot more

The car had brand new Falken ze329's at the time of purchase. Got on here & everyones opinions were the same as my initial impression. In other words stay well clear of these!!!

For the Perth guys i got these through Mark @ Bayswater Tyres who's the Toyo Motorsport dealer. Price was $235 / each. Thoroughly recommended shop.

i have these on the front of my car

the grip through the corners is significantly better then anything else i have felt and i have hit the brakes pretty hard and abs has not kicked in.

very grippy Tyre.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.

Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
