Sandown - SUNDAY June 12 (yep - right in the middle of the long weekend!)

$110.00 for Sprints

$100.00 for Driver Training

I have been advised that Sandown is always the most popular events on the WRX Calander and the events always sell out so I suggest interested parties get their entry forms in early.

Be aware also that there has been a change in Motorsports Director at the WRX Club so fax numbers and entry forms etc have changed a little.

:P and see you on the track.

Meh - im happy for people to get pi55ed & BBQ'd at my place - its then a 10 min crawl to Sandown in the morning.

Or perhaps we could drink the Sunday night AFTER the track day seeing as we all have the Monday off it seems to make more sense.

Actually from what I gather they are just paranoid about Phillip Island as there are so many deaths at that track. I guss they figure at the other tracks the biggest risk is you smashing up your car but at PI bad accidents can happen cause of the speeds.

They also have no driver training at PI and are suggesting that maybe in the future they won't allow 1st timer track goers onto that track.

Ok, jut posted my entry in:)

Who else is in? And for a bit of laugh, who is going to bet me a case off beer that i cant get below a 1:25.99sec?

Looking at how the car ran at Eastern she seems to be over her hissy fits so its time to wind up the boost with some new rubber :microwave

PS...does it look like there is going to be a lack of RWD modified again?

INASNT you pu55y!!!!!!

ROWDY32 you purse carrier!!!

Brisby - if you run a 1.26.xx I'll give you a slab.

If you run a 1.25.xx I'll give you a whole keg. I have one sitting in my office all ready.

I just read this thread!!!!! I thought it was for the 5th, so ignore what i wrote in the PM about the 5th.

Filling out entry form now :kick:

Also - pretty sure I could get the Ice Supra along as well.

He finally has the radiator in and the new stickies on so I'm pretty sure he's keen to give it another crack. That will give you your 3 RWD modified mate!

Sh1t! He was two seconds quicker then ill ever go last time:( So even if i get a high 1:25sec im still way off that thing:(

LOL..i need a 5 second improvement:(

oh...and anyone, in light of poor old Blind elks dramas at Winton, who wants to go halves in a 50L Drum of fuel? I shoudl be able to pick it up as im on holidays from next Friday

Brisby - the Ice Supra did a 1.25.8 as the best time last time. You sure you don't have your times confused? Either way - I think my keg is safe.

Also - Nige did a 1.09 flat at Wakefield on Friday as part of that Autosalon Car of the Year comp. Not bad given he only got 1 attempt due to a faulty alternator and he'd never been there before.

I will go halves on some 104 with you since u pinched half of mine at phillip island, but i just kissed the ass of an 1987 XJ40 Jag this morning on the way to work at the traffic lights. I put 2 big cracks on the front bar so dont know how it is at the moment to race with!!! :(

I was told he went a bit over 1 sec quicker then you/Emre/Chris:confused:

As for the Wakefield time, i odnt doubt the Supra is capable of those times, but i have a sneaking suspicion that it wasnt on the full circuit. A 1:08 from the Autostyle GTR and a 1:04 from Mr WRX...lol those times need authenticating. And if he only got one lap at the 1:09 then ill take my hat off to Nige, that is nothing short of brilliant....its akin to doing about a 1:35 at Winton in one go.

    • So, this shouldn't be such a mission, but there were a few tricks so I thought I'd post up a DIY for it. This was on a Q50 Red Sport but I doubt any other V37 model is very different (maybe just less steps for the intake heat exchanger hoses) I pulled the radiator out to flush it because the car was running hot at the track, but obviously the same steps apply for changing a radiator for any reason including an upgrade. If you are removing the radiator, you of course need to drain and refill, so have 5+ litres of blue coolant ready. You don't need to drain the intake heat exchanger to remove the radiator but depending on your plans you may need a couple of litres for that as well. You will also need something to deal with the auto transmission lines, I used 2x 8mm rubber caps on the radiator side, and a short length of 8mm pipe on the car side.....unless you can block these lines quickly you will loose AT fluid and it may be enough to hurt the transmission if you don't refill it. Other than that....lets go... "First, jack up your car". Yes really, and put it safely on stands. If you are not confident doing that you need to give this job to a mechanic
    • If the forester is anything like our old 2007 GTB Liberty, I could near on run ling Long's and "rate them", as no matter what, it just hung to the road, even when abusing it in a hard launch in the wet, or throwing it at corners.
    • LOL, all of the CAI like Craig I just need to put a hole saw through my bumper Done and dusted, the car runs, which is nice, I'll take it for a spin when the weather clears up Just need to put the bumper back on for good
    • Brooooo Please send ABS control unit schematic Please! R33 gts25t ABS (Its two plug ecu, black and white) wire colors possible? [email protected]
    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
