Well my wallet's a whole lot emptier now, after I just bought these rims to go onto the R32...

phear_my_dish.jpg

For those interested, its a 18" x 9" with a +3 offset in front and a 18" x 10" with a -9 offset at the back, which should hopefully allow me to fit them onto the R32 hubs without any rubbing etc, and with a couple of 10mm spacers should see em sit flush with the wider guards.

Now I need to find someone who can fix up the rims (restore the clear coat and give it the polish of its life). Anyone able to reccomend companies?

There appears to be an acceptable level of dish.

Carry on.

PS did anyone ever see the Gemballa at Duttons? We went last year and checked it out - the DISH on the rears was supreme...

An acceptable GTR namesake, methinks :stupid:

dish seems to be the new age rice... ah well... its the only shit that fits my car and fills out widebody guards.

Now if only I can get all the f**ktards that advertise yahoo auction rims on NS and SAU to quit bidding against me, I'd have gotten it for half the price I paid.

BN Sports now make the same kit to fit R32 GTR guards as well. I've got the widebody kit for the GTS shape.

Denham, yeah project's been stagnant due to financial commitments in other areas of my life  after allt he R32's a daily driver. Plus I got the AE86 now which is being built for track use so I'm not gonna go over the top with the R32, just a kit and a moderately powered engine (which is why I'm selling the TD06-25G turbo kit as I don't want 500kw at 6000 RPM).

Why not?!?

PS I like the way BN sports decided to black out the background but not what was showing through the side and back windows haha

yeah, its an interesting tint on the windows isn't it

thats seems like the way things are going. .sounds like in vic you have to have a dedicated track car, and a shitbox/death/pollution machine for street these days.

Bad yahoo prices for things have gone through the roof now every 2nd monkey has started a business selling yahoo parts, KUNTS

yeah shits me when I see a set of rims for 70,000 Yen buy it now (Just under $1000, shipping etc should come to $500 max) and then I come on SAU and I see someone advertise them for $2600 landed. And worse still they don't even include the other 2 photos of it showing dents and scratches.

ah well, if you're dumb enough to buy off em you ought to get ripped off.

I AGREE 100% Shan, it seems alot of sellers in the import parts business via yahoo auctions are quoting alot higher margins on the landed prices... so much that it really put me off. I'd rather just buy new stuff for a few hundred more. pffft

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the 2025 build re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I quite rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.
    • Remember, take original quote. Double it. Then add a bit more. It's how any project goes.
    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
