sorry mate ... seriously ... try Famous Car Insurance in Subi ... they seem to be able to sort out some fairly reasonable prices. Also, Suncorp Metway is another one to try.

Good luck! :)

Hey Chris,

Are you the guy that gave everyone my direct number a while ago so they could call me at HBF for quotes.

IF IT WAS (and only if it was) thanks for that, a total of 22 phone calls from hoons with GTR's, silvias, 180sx's who are 23 and mostly younger with at fault accidents and losses of licence etc. what a good day that was

If not then I am still looking for the guy. Either way I probably authorised the cover for your wifes car.

Insurance is very scared of taking risks with imports as there are no age/driver skill restrictions for buying them, especially with the power that most can put out, same goes for V8's ya know. I mean I know excel drivers smash cars all the time, but cos we are a specialised group we get the sh*t end of everything. Its almost hopeless. and worse if you have had a crap history.

HBF do cover imports. so give them a call and tell them that someone else just did one if anyone says we dont do it. If you get too much opposition ask to be put through to James and leave a message for him telling him you want a quote for an import.

DO NOT TELL HIM YOU HEARD IT FROM HERE. If he tells me that I AM GOING TO BE NOT HAPPY JAN.

(we are checking how much interest there is just from the public, not from advertising. )

lata playas and playettes

cheers RiaZ, will give hbf a call later on and see how i go. maybe will have slightly better luck - will be 26 when the car if fiiiiiiinally registered and i'm sqeaky clean :uh-huh: (well as far as driving record goes anyways!!)

thanks for the input guys

Beeb

Sorry to inform you guys but I only pay $600 per year for my GTS-t, and it was only $700 when I was under 25. It seems that the insurance companies have one mad recently, but if you had insurance before then its not so bad, just hope I don't have an accident, they'll be waiting for an excuse not to renew at that price.

See'ya:burnout:

no dramas Chrisroi,

I know paul and he is a good guy, You wont have any dramas with the car for sure.

if you need anything insurance related about your policy let me know via email. [email protected]

Everyone else. good luck

RiaZ

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
