my drive way sux

its steepish, onto a busy road on a corner, behind a power pole

i often sit there for 5 minutes waiting for a break in traffic

my front bar has no paint on its bottom either

slightly better since i got the coil overs in and raised her up a bit

as u guys have said before who knows what the logic is about reversing into the driveway but i do that all the time and my car doesnt scrap then, if i was to go straight in it scraps, as i cant go in at an angle cause the driveway is just perfect fit for my car dam small driveway

The first time the same day I bought my car i tried to get it up my driveway I cracked the front bar and got the car stuck on my driveway and my dad had to come lift the front of the car while i reversed.

The car was so low that I had to install new springs to enable me to get up the driveway at all.

My previous car which was a 250cu TE Cortina which has compressed and cut springs would smach the extractors everytime on the way in and out the driveway and made that part of the extractor flat underneath. I didnt really car on that car as it a shitter anyway

  • 2 months later...

mine used to be fine, 'till the next door neighbour had a bitch to the council about a bit of a puddle that built up in front of his driveway when it rained (and it wasnt even a lot of water, and wasnt on his grass or anything)

so they came in, tore up the end of the court( my house is at the very bottom of the court) and re layed it to fix his little water issue

in the process of fixing his tiny issue, they managed to destroy ours, and the other next doors driveways, so now they are like \/ that as well....cant wait till i get the skyline...my TX5 is on superlows, and gets in if i go extremely slow, but it has no body kit so yeah

it has cracked the front bar of my cousins VX clubsport, and almost did the same to his brothers VX Club.

not nice

Here's my driveway drama...this is how I get in my single car garage...coming out you have to reverse the other way and it just scrapes slightly...dying to lower the car but pretty much impossible at the moment unless maybe I remove my front lip??? or airbag suspension!! :( Live in a complex so body corp is very anal about foreign objects left outside in the driveway eg: ramps, planks etc... :P

I just moved to a new place.

and i love my driveway!

every car we own gets in and out without any dramas!

first house I have lived in where I can get my cars in and out with out having to go really really slow and sideways, or in reveres!

im loving it

sorry for the brag. but yeah I love it

hey guys

i know this may be abit off topic but i got an r33 with stock wheels and suspension and was thinking of getting a nismo 400r front bar but im afraid its gonna be too low for everyday driving plus my driveway sux

i was wondering if anyone knew how much clearance i would have from the front bar and the ground

thanks

I scrape near my cat every time i go in and out.

I had to adjust my rear suspension higher just so i could get it down.

I have no idea how I can get it fixed.

I doubt the council will do anything as the path has no problems.

I doubt my land son of rajab will rip up their driveway just so my lowered car doesntg scrape.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
