i am keen on a team enduro session. would be awesome fun, and then you can share the cost amongst a couple of mates (say 3 man or 4 man teams).

Dan tried to organise this last year but everyone said yeah i'll come, then bailed when it was time to pony up the dough.

Teaming up it was still $150 each. 4 hour adn you get about 1 hour each which is a shit load of time if you have ever gone karting before (you will be sore as after that).

I agree the hardest thing is getting it organised. To many say they will cum so really you need to get deposits or full payments. The one i was going to was abondoned because the v8's were on the same day at easterncreek and everyone pulled out.

yeah enduro would be the go. And you are dead right. 20 minutes session of racing will have you pretty knackered. I think $150 a person for that kind of seat time, and considering the enduros use the 'good' karts i think it's worth it.

Dan did a top job stringing it all together last time, but we let him down a bit by being slack with the cash.

love to see this get off the ground.

ok I've refreshed my memory of this. basically it's $175 per kart per hour. so if you had 3 man team, 3 hour enduro it's $175 a head. not sure if it's possible to have 4 man team for 3 hour enduro but that would probably be ideal. cheap cost and a little less kart time.

Not sure which time you are referring to here, but we did manage to get a group together and goto EC Karts last year for a round of the "Club Championships" :uh-huh:

This was when dan had kindly organised an enduro day for us. i believe it morphed into the 'turn up and do some laps' event after most people pulled out of enduro spec.

hopefully it may happen this year. :)

hahah I tried drifting em, the little karts were OK to start but you couldnt hold em....the big ones are too heavy.

I am in for whatever we go for...

But as I remember last year we did an hour and I was damn sore afterwards....I would be fine with 45 min for a 4 person 3 hour enduro :)

for $175 id rather attend a wakefield day or a motorkhana or a hillclimb event over a little go kart

hence why $45 is much more affordable, and you will get the same amount of track time as at eastern creek. its the only way i managed to get the numbers to have a decent day.

yes mate $175 is the same as maybe a private wakefield day. a private track day at Oran Park GP or EC is ~$250. add to that tyre wear (i use semis so not insignificant), brake wear (fluid must be changed afterwards $50, pad wear, rotor wear), also need an oil change afterwards thats $150 (3X2 litre bottles of chrono 300V). then there is fuel maybe $70 not incuding to and from the track, and prepare for things to skyrocket if something goes wrong.

on the other side you have kart enduro, great competetive fun with friends, i would say just as much fun as a track day, but with no hidden costs.

Anyway, everyone has their own prefference. I personally am in for enduro. if it's on put me down for 1 team of 3 or 4 people (which ever is required).

Yeah im keen for the enduro... the idea of working as a team against other teams - full pit stops, qualifying and all sounds like a great idea.

If they piss off all the awards/trophys and maybe do it at a non popular time like mon - friday late afternoon the price might cum down a bit (?)

EC karts dont look that buisy during the week so we might be able to some sort of a deal and if we can do if at a reasonable price we will get the numbers.

The last day i had 8 blokes super keen so im sure we would get numbers..

We could even envite other clubs and have a shoot out ?

interested in the enduro only. I was sure that you could have 3 or 4 per team. ie. have a 3 hour enduro with 3 people per team, or 4 hour with 4 people per team as it's a bit hard with only 2 per team, don't get much break between session. I reckon the ideal would be 3 hour with 3 per team or 4 hour with 4 per team. either way the cost will still be $175 for weekday.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
