Did a search but didn't really know what to search for and got no results. Anyway was flashed by a camera on the 30th of may doing about 75-80 in a 60 zone but there was another rx2 about 4 car lengths behind in that also saw the flash (wasn't speeding).

If anyone knows what the average time to get sent the fine in the mail thatd be great? also Ive heard if there are several cars in the photo they dont sent the fine out as it can be too hard to determine which car was infact speeding?

Another thing I changed my plates from custom ones recently to non custom ones but for some reason last week got a letter to renew my custom ones in the mail? If someone could please shed some light on this itd be great as Im sick of waiting to hear if Im gonna be stuck on 1 point (On Ps) for another year.

Cheers.

my mate got flashed ( i was passenger)

and infront of us was a car , it got flashed speeding.. we also got flashed around 10kmh over, but since he was flashed, luckly his fine has never came in the mail yet. looks like it wasnt quick enough to get 2 quality shots in a row..

I was flashed while overtaking someone. As there were two cars side by side in the picture, they cannot prove which car was actually speeding. I never heard anything from that either.

Lat time I was caught by a speed camera the fine arrived within a couple of days. Apparently the mailing is now all computerized and automatic.

mm so you reckon if I haven't gotten it by now I should be fine?

I guess the only way is to wait and see.

i waited 3 or 4 months for a 3pt fine. im dead serious

i thought i got off. i have 1 point untill November 2007 now ;/

but this is in WA, and we have to wait awhile for everything here ;/

It's true, we will hear the election result tomorrow morning. I reckon Mark Latham will win it. :uh-huh:

But back to topic, some people have waited a few months, others it takes just a few days, just hope you get away with it but from the way you have described it, you will get one.

In SA, you own the rights to the plates, even if they are not on a car.

So, you can continue to renew the plates without displaying them, and no-one else can use them.

Hope this helps

    • @Supernanoyour car has ended up in my hands and I was wondering if there has been any work done to the motor?
    • Sigh... yeah OEM mount rear battery, very R33, very demure, very mindful.
    • Would need a substantial current draw in the car to make a bunch of sparks. Obvs to now test resistance to ground of the car's B+ lead. If there's a short there, you'll see it. Only likely place for that, as you suspect is alternator. But there is also the possibility that rats have had a chew on some insulation. Shitbox has the battery in the boot, yeah? Plenty of cable to attack.
    • Oh, I thought of that too... I disconnected the battery and hooked up the leads direct to the car without the battery in place. Sparks... I suspect the following: Alternator has decided to kill itself Starter has decided to kill itself I'll recharge the battery, then unplug both, and go from there. The above might take 6 months - however I did buy a Victron 15 AMP trickle charger, apparently it's better than CTEK?
