Hi,

Im part of the skyline owners club in the uk and was having a look at your forum,

Its really good,

Have a look at my gts turbo i got her last week and im starting to do her up.

Its quite unusual for a young female to drive one of these cars in the uk as there seen as a mans car,is it the same in Australia?

G'day Opel!

I used to live in Essex(right next to Stansted...),and whilst I was residing there, all the pimply lads seemed to be into nothing but Max motors....in fact, mostly everywhere I went,it was badly painted + kitted Pug's and Mondeo's. It's nice to think it's starting to change if lady is driving an R33 over there! Is the scene actually changing much? And is it still you-gotta-be-'avin'-me-on when it comes to insurance?

It seems most 'Line UK owners are fairly switched on. We probably don't see enough of you lot posting "down under" as you should:word up your fellow 'Liners 'bout us!

Oh,and feel free to tease us "convicts" with photo's of top totty and the like,'K? After all, funkymonkey was right when he said most blokes here just wanna know if you're fit...LOL!

Cheers! Jayce.

whey! thats well over $6000 :(

I have been watching Top Gear, great show, do you watch that?, your transport department is run by 2 guys called Darling and Ladyman :D, (clarkson is always taking the piss)

anway they are on about paying a road tax....has that kicked into action yet or are they getting complaints about it?...

That insurance is only 3party fire and theft and limited milege its crazy,I just brought my road tax for 6 months it was £95 its nuts, but they wanna bring in this pay as you go road tax its crazy.

Anyway babe im off to bed its 11pm here so leave me a message and i will get back to you.

What?? No Thailand and Koh Samui??

Were going back for 3 weeks in Thailand with most of it in Samui about the same time this year.

Have 2 extra friends this year to make 6 so we'll have to hire a big yank convertible for the island laps :D

What?? No Thailand and Koh Samui??

Yeah sad to say, but no...even though we were trying to think of some way to go via Samui..was great there!

I've got to go to PNG on the 20th...and If I make it back in one piece we're off to NZ skiing in August (pffft snow isn't a *real* holiday without sun and sand)

Really have to go to the UK though next year, catch up with Hannahs family, and also put her through the same fate of meeting my family!

Mmmm PNG is still a bit of a risk.

As for snow, well it's never a holiday, just a wild hard drinking time with lotsa exercise and speed rush. I used to ski at the Army champs and have missed it a lot since the accident. Last time we had a chalet with an outdoor spa, and we'd sit around drinking my highly volatile homemade dark&stormy's for 2 hours after the days skiing. Some of us were competing on 2 hours sleep a night. Made tha falls easier/softer when you're relaxed.

Family meet huh? Hope you both survive.

Is this thread bringing out all the old UK dwellers???

Could be!.....I was born in Saltburn (near Whitby...Captain Cooks home town ;) )

Then did the usual working holiday to the UK about 10 years ago now, lived in Middlesbrough and Derby....had an absolute ball great place, but owning a (nice) car over there is a nightmare....eg Fuel, Insurance, not to mention weather and keeping your pride and joy clean!

BTW.....I used to drive an OPEL :);)

well I got to the GTR day at Brands!!!!

Sure to see you around at the next drive day.....

oh and Roy, you need to camp out at Abbey M/S! plenty of fine cars there including a couple of Nur's!

pics to follow....

Yeh looking at the days they do at Spa etc, well how great would that be, plus th UK has so many tracks:)

10-12 months ago i was going to take my car over there with me for a driving/thrash holiday, but the combination of not really being able to sell it whilst i was over there...and well, the real reason was i spent all my savings the past 18 months racing/tracking my car, well i cant afford to take it anymore, truth is i need to sell it to make sure i even make it OS now.

Cant wait to see the photos:)

    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
