At this stage we will probably leave around 3 - 4PM, and arrive by 7:30PM at the latest. Check into the hotel, then go and wine and dine at one of the many restaurants/cafes 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

Nik...I'm not sure if I'll be able to leave till 5ish so I might have to see you guys up there...depends on my friend, if she can get off a little earlier, I'll cruise with you.

So you guys are staying in the city on the Saturday night? I think we'll stay at the Hunter, providing a few of the sydney people are keen still!

Hey Shell,

We'll actually our departure time is based on when Mark can finish work... hoping he can finish early, otherwise wont be cruising up till 5ish either. Will let you know.

Yeah city on sat night, Mark the party animal wants to party :(

well doesnt look like i'll be able to make it. i even took the day off work and everything to find that its my grandpa's 80th bday, which i cant get out of. sorry guys, i was really looking forward to it. looks like it will have to wait till next year. \

bummer......

however, i'll probably have to drive up on the friday, so i'll probably join the curise up to sydney, then go my seperate way from there.

we might be up for this, depends on $$$$$$$ for petrol glug glug.

oz32 we're making mame cabinets too - they're painted and all, we're just soldering together the controls. we're using the old taito cabs - this is what ours look like:

sorry to get off topic.

heya...it's in the members section. Non-members are welcome too (there'll be a $5 fee for non-members - cams requirement).

we're not trying to exclude anyone, but because it's an official club event, we're just not advertising it all over the place :)

you might want to PM majanal if you want to come, because he needs the numbers for lunch...and also get him to tell you the meeting place & time..

the club is CAMS affiliated so whenever we hold an event we are covered by CAMS insurance....I know it's only a cruise but if something happened the organisers could be held responsible.. And we have the insurance so we may as well use it! :D

ok guys, just wanted to bump this up and see if there's any more interest from the Canberra crew..

Basically at this stage we're looking at leaving on Friday 16th at 5-ish (exact time TBA!!!)

Staying overnight at Windsor (see Niks first post for link)...this place is cheap, around $100..

Cruise meeting point is just down the road - cruise departs at 10.30am.

After some "fun" driving and lunch you can do what you want...go back home to Canberra or stay o'night in sydney.

I'm going to book the Windsor place in the next couple of days....I can book for others as well, but you must be a definate!! If you're not sure you can do your own booking when you know if you're coming...but just a warning, there's not a huge choice of accommodation out there if this place is all booked up..

This cruise is heaps of fun and I think you should all come :D

well i just tried getting out of this other thing i had on that same day, but looks like i cant. but because i have to drive up to sydney that weekend anyway, i'll meet up with you all at the meeting point on friday, cruise up with ya'll, then go my own way once we hit sydney.

Yep, I booked our rooms a few weeks back and it was $80 per room (the ones we stayed in last year Shell with the funky smell )

This is an -awesome- cruise. For those that like twisty roads, picture macquarie pass but about 100 times better and 100 times longer (not as steep, but nice wide windy road through rain forrest).

If you have the weekend off id definately reccomend coming up, so far we have myself, ewen, mark, cassi and shell + 1.

Shell, do you want to meet up at say shell exhibition park at 5:30PM? I dont think Mark is able to get off early, so we will be leaving late too :D

Frink, more than welcome to cruise up with us :D

5.30 is it then! Bloody Mark, couldn't we just leave him behind???

(does he still read in here? :D )

this is gunna be fun!!...my car's just been serviced, I'm all set to go yay..

Nik, I've put you down on the attendees list too..

hey Frink...yep 5.30pm leave...I'm picking my friend up from O'conner at quarter past so I'll be there pretty much right on time.

You can go earlier if you want but i don't think anyone will be there till closer to 5.30pm :(

Jayce..sorry to hear you guys can't make it :)

yknow if the 30th is on Saturday night you could still make it back to Canberra on time ;)

*sighs*

well, its 10.30am and the cruise is about to start. i wish i was there and not going to a boring party, which i cant get out of.

bugger.....

however, the cruise up was great. it was raining from about goulburn up and it was a scarey moment when my hicas light came on after hitting a bump and loosing traction at about 140! kept you on your toes and certainly wasnt a dull trip. im sure the others will agree.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
