Step 1. Sell GTS-T.

Step 2. But GTR.

Step 3. Enjoy your new car with the knowledge people aren't laughing at you thinking "What a twat" for putting on some guards and a few badges then getting your ass kicked by Commonwhores who will tell all their mates that GTR's are actually quite shit because their Ex-taxi beat it...

Easy!

imo, both the r32 and r32gtr look the same. the gtr may have a different nose, guards etc, but its not worth the hassel.

if it was a r33 or 34, thats a different story.

you should have your eyes checked.

otherwise refer post 10...

if it was an R33 or R34 it would be no different.

i know the r32 and GTR32 looks slightly different. i was just point out that a r32 with a GTR front bar wouldnt be more "eye-catching" compared to r33, r34 with a GTR front bar. u get what i mean ? i wasnt including every GTR features. just merely comparing frontbars.

rear guards - get fibreglass overlay, about 1k fitted by carmate (from memory)

dont touch fibreglass guards if your going to drive the car on the road

they WILL crack no matter wat anyone tells you

i dont see many people laughing at me champ

although i dont have the badges

and believe me once its on the road no commonwhores will be beating me

i have a r32 gtst (modded) and i dont get my arse kicked by "commonwhores"

you must be a really bad driver or up against some seriously modified commos

Thats a bit ruff isnt it?

Ppl enjoy cars in different ways and for different reasons...and like to modify cars their own way. I reckon it would be fun to do it, but would only ever consider it if i was a panel beater or was best mates with a panel beater that could supply labour for free.

Some ppl may consider someone that outlays a substantial amount of money on a car, only to get somone else to drive the thing a "twat" ... its the owners business what they do with their car:)

You are a twat. What the original poster was asking was the definition of RICE. Why pretend your car is something it is not? Why embarass the owners of the real thing with your poor imitation?

If you build a powerful GTST, then have one and be proud of it, don't pretend it is a GTR. That's all there is to it. There is no justification for rice boys. :D

As for me, I am not allowed the drive the car for a number of reasons - and I don't class driving it as important enough to give up my job (which pays me well enough to afford the real thing in the first place).

Why bother owning the 'real thing' if you cant drive it! Defeats the purpose of owning a car. The car is no more than a trophy or a status symbol

One of the best Skylines I have seen locally here in SA is Mark Phillips's drift R33 (ex JMS red R33) nd looks absolutley awesome. Might not be a GTR, but I would prefer that car to many GTR's that I have seen

BTW, I have a GTR bonnet - reason, its heaps lighter and allows more cool air to get to the radiator. But I don't class my car as a wanna be GTR

GTST with a GTR badge just doesn't work

Hey dude, i got GTR front on my R33 GTS and it looks mad, wouldnt worry about getting new wheel arches etc. But in the end the decision is yours! get a RB25 conversion then you'll def be happy :D

BAH! RB25 no way! If your gonna do the "llok alike" thingy, you need the RB30/25 Hybrid. Then people will really think its a GTR because it will have heaps of power and PWN people off the lights.

you might have a decent job but you obviously cant read

how about you check your facts before you go talking shit

your the only twat here

get in your car and drive it yourself

anyone can throw money at a workshop and a driver and make a car go fast

    • @666DAN sorry to bring you and old thread.     I've got my de+t done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.    Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd when selected . But nothing when in  drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic. I'm sure there is maybe 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Do ya have any ideas?     Cheers man
    • Well I recently changed my rear axles and was thinking if I bumped anything, I have been driving the car for a while now though... But it has been raining today so everything is wet under the wheel arches. Brakes feel fine and can't hear any of the metal screamers, I had a squeak coming from one of the handbrake drums but that seems to have gone away a while ago. I was going down a hill when it lit up and I did feel the abs bite for a second and question why it did it?
    • Correct. Um. I dunno. I haven't cared enough about the way that the NA cars work to know for sure. But..... The 33/34 turbo manual cars have an electronic speed sensor in the gearbox that outputs a +/- (ie, sawtooth AC) voltage signal. That is connected to the speedo. The speedo then outputs a 0-5v square wave (ie, PWM) signal that the ECU (and any other CU on the bus) sees. The speed sensor is NOT directly connected to the ECU. So here's the problem. Your new ECU expects to see the PWM signal, but must somehow be getting a direct signal from the diff speed sensor. Which would suggest that the wiring of the NA car is not the same as the turbo cars. I think you will need to spend some time with (hopefully the wiring diagram for the car) and a multimeter to see what is connected to what. Then, presuming I am correct**, you would then want to separate the ECU speed signal input from the rest of the car's wiring, and probably either buy a speed signal converter, or build one using an arduino (or similar). That would take in the speed sensor signal and output a scaled (and suitably rearranged) signal for the ECU. ** We shouldn't presume that I am correct here, because there might be something else crazy going on. I don't think you could convert the speedo to be fed from the gearbox sensor, because the pulse rate from that sensor is probably different to the diff sensor and then the speedo would read wrongly. And this also wouldn't fix the ECU's problem either, because the ECU doesn't want to see the gearbox signal direct either (assuming that they are all on the same wiring, for some odd NA related reason, see above caveat!) Does this help? Probably not. Can you make it work? Almost certainly. With the above work. You should buy a handheld oscilloscope from Aliexpress so that you can view these signals directly. Connect up the probes and drive the car. Show photos of the screen when drving at known speeds and connected to different places, and we'll see what we can learn about it.
    • Assuming your brake pads are not worn right down, I'd add a little brake fluid. Is there any sign of a brake fluid leak?
    • Hello all,  I need of some help. On my drive home my handbrake light lit up and started flashing. When I got home I checked my handbrake sensor under the centre console and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I have scanned my car via the consult port, no codes shown. Checked my brake fluid as well which is half full. Tried unplugging the brake master but it didn't change anything. Thoughts on what it could be? The master float doesn't seem to be stuck. My car is an 1998 ER34 sedan GT. No hicas but has ABS Photos below 👇🏾
