It turns out I didn't blow the turbo, I blew off an intercooler pipe. But I couldn't see it on the night cause it was under the car and dark. But the turbo is definetly on the way out cause theres oil in the intercooler pipes. I'll drive like an old woman for a month or so and replace it with something a bit bigger. :D

im not too sure, I've had the pipes off quite a bit, when i painted them and polished the intercooler. also had the inlet pipe off when I changed the plugs(c#nt of a job) but theres never been oil in there before.

So what is new Hicks??:bahaha:

Good to see that your car is just barely alive, but I agree with Killer-T that it is probably not that much too worry about, but if you need an excuse to drive slowly then its OK with me.

See'ya:burnout:

It's scary when you blow a pipe off, does make you think the worst. I blew a vacume hose at the plex last time and I thought it was a dead turbo too. I had a look under the bonnet and found the hose, went out and kept dragging :D

Seriously sounds like blow by, this can be increased by increasing boost, or even using a oil thats a bit too thin when you change it. Would investigate a catch can as coating your coola isn't a good way of improving efficiency:D

Good luck getting it sorted - only if to get GTS-t VSPEC off your case....hehehehe.

I run standard boost and have a bit of oil.

Catch-can you say ?

BTW: My next oil change is due shortly, what does everyone use/recommend ? and how much is it ? (also, how many Ls to fill up?)

Hes ripping u off m8.

U change ure oil every 5000ks right? whats the point of puttin redline in (unless ure a sheik or something) just use good ol Mobil1 synth half the price and will be dam close to as good as redline for that time period.

Its not just the oil in the pipes that worried me, its the way that smoke slowly rises from the exaust when I back it off after reving it.

BTW paul, your a tool. I might head down to the plex to watch you get some more 14 second passes. :(

    • What!? US law does not apply to the rest of the world!!!
    • No requirement for JDM vehicles,  which the 33 is, maroney label only needed in the US market for new cars I believe (Federal law stuff) Google knows all
    • Hopefully you can just unbolt them, thank them for their service, then bin them and not replace them Apparently the sensors like to set them off with only minor impacts at low speed It looks like they do a delete kit for some of these, but, it is costly
