I ask for each entry to include the following info.

1. COST

2. Mods you have done (mechanical mods not stereo mods)

3. Where u did it

4. How long it took

5. Comments (was happy was not happy and why)

ohohoh me first

1. $550

2. High flow turbo, 3" turbo back w/ hi flow cat, HKS timing gear, 040 fuel pump, 6 x S15 injectors, Z32 Afm, Blitz id-III, fuel pressure reg, HKS SSQV.

3. APC

4. About 4 hours

5. Very happy with the tune, had to take back once after timing gear was done to re-adjust but this was only $100 cause it was only a half and hour to re-do. NOTE: This was first done 2 years ago. So price is old and now could be more or less... I dont have timeto shop around too much so i ask others where and how much.

Reason i ask is that i fryed by pfc due to a bad jump start so i am back in the market for a new one so ive ordered the d version so i can go to a MAP sensor and ditch the afm. So i need to get it done from stractch again. APC is far from home now and id like someone closer if possible.

Please post results and price from all areas of AUST as this is now a tech thread for others to be able to go to the right place first time.

Cheers Col

1. $550

2. FMIC, 3" exhaust (turbo back), PFC, cam gears, fuel pump and reg, HD clutch, AVC-R

3. tuned by Paul from Hunter Thomas Automotive, tuned in sydney at ProCar Racing

4. dunno he took the car to sydney for a day

5. very happy made 220 rwkw on stock turbo, cars runs so nice now, idles smoothly, accelerates properly, and uses less petrol A+++++++++++++++ rating for sure

Charged: $100

Mods: FMIC, 3" Turbo Back Exhaust, PFC, RB30DET.

Tuned By: Shaun @ Boostworx in Adelaide, SA

Time Taken: 1hr (I Hung Around)

Comments: Very happy, The 3ltr only 'just' ran on the stock RB20DET 2ltr PFC base map. Very good tune for bugger all bills.

The tune was 90% wot tuning with a few little light load adjustments.

It made 176rwkw with the stock RB20DET turbo running 9psi @ 4400rpm-4950rpm, power drops off rapidly after this rpm.

I've reached the limit of the stock rb20 turbo and injectors as they are hitting 100%.

I will be installing injectors and a larger turbo soon, I've been told the tune will cost $200-$300 as he will have to completely go over the light load map. This is what takes time, not the WOT.

Any more takers... Common people have pfc's left right and centre. I have had many PM's... please post here not pm me...

I need to be tuned next monday and im shocked by the price these days. All shops i have called are going towards the $800 mark...

1. $540 (4hrs Dyno time - SAU Discount)

2. Exhaust, Cam gears, running 1 bar boost

3. Mercury Motorsport (They have fc-datalogit for all power FC's)

4. Dropped off Wednesday night, ready lunch time Friday

5. Very happy, cold start needs a bit more work, power went from 221 awkW to 245awkw)

6. Car: R32GTR

Power FC tune is $450 minus 10% to SAUWA members

We normally have the car for 1 day.

HP varies but never seen one leave yet that made less hp.

We actually do a special on R33 GTS-T's and Silvia SR20DET's of supplying, tuning and fitting a Power FCwith handcontroller for $1600. We use Datalogit to tune them as well and that includes a full Dyno Dynamics Shootout accredited power run.

Don't think there are too many shops who can beat that :)

Trouble is for the majority is we are based in WA :P

cheers

Ken

Particulalrly interested in this one, cause when i FINALLY get around to getting mine done, i think I'm going with The Hitman

Was the $500 for road tune or dyno tune...or bits of both?

Thanks..Birnie

dont just get a full outright power tune cos youll get shit ass economy. the majority of your driving is done in the first 10x10 cells. these should be tuned on partial throttle, medium throttle and low throttle to get your fuel economy. its easy to do full throttle tune and get a max top rwkw sure but your fuel economy will suck

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 馃
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
