she  reckons they did it on a air strip so room wasnt an issue, i just wouldnt beleive that the auto trans and let alone a 1600 would be able to push the car that farr, top gear in an auto would be redlining before it got up to 230 even wouldnt it? and it looked like a stock car pretty much...

They got a tow from a plane taking off.

Lets kill this one off right now, I don't have my Honda gear ratio chart with me, but from memory the manual B16A does 27 kph per 1,000 rpm. So 280 kph would be 10,370 rpm. So it's IMPOSSIBLE :)

But wait there is more ;)

If I remember rightly the auto is 8% shorter geared, so that would mean 11,200 rpm at 280 kph

:) cheers ;)

whats a r32 gtrs stop speed btw?

I don't have my gear charts for Skylines with me either, again from memory 275kph = ~8,500 rpm. If it has enough power to push it there of course. At Philip Island we get to around 265 kph on the main straight which is somewhat downhill, and that's with 380 4wkw

:) cheers :)

hey. Its 12.20am and just got back from a burn in my mates s2k. THAT can definately do 280.... We onli took it up too 250 before i asked him to back it off. Thats a h22 in there but...

We took his type r integra up too 240 as well without too much of a sweat so i rekon it could do 280 without too much hassle. BUT i believe thats a b18 or sumthing in there.

That being said, it would barely be able to do 280 without some mods so i definatley dont think that a b16 could come close.

***all done on a legitimate track**** none of that open road shit.....

Interesting, the F20 turns clockwise and the H22 turns anti clockwise, so that 250kph was in reverse, right? ;)

:) cheers :D

Theoretical top speed for a R32 GTR is about 250km/h. Don't need a rocket scientist to figure out that a RB26DETT has more torque than a B16A engine. I don't care what aerodynamic coefficent a Intergra is it'll never reach 250km/h (unless a tornado is blowing wind in the right direction and plumetting down to earth from orbit, YES, it may reach 280km/h).

Just cause the speedo says, doesn't mean it can do!

true but a type r teg is not far off. i was in my mates and we got it to 240km/h which i call close and damn good for a 1.8.

and yes i no at speeds like that that the speedo is not quite accurate but i am just saying what i have experianced. :P and civics have B16A integra B18C.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
