Dirtgarage To Relocate To Wa

Recommended Posts

if you looking for cafe type stuff

im living in vic park atm, in a little unit/townhouse deal, but if you are looking to buy, there is a lot of places in vic park, but its kinda semi dodge, depending which bit you live in, and its also a fairly old suburb, most of the houses for sale are renovators deals, or on a duplex block setup..

if you want a nice suburb, look at floreat, lived there for the past 11 odd years before moving, its quiet, clean, and 5 minutes from subi and scarborough, 10 from the city and northbridge and cottesloe, and 15 to hillaries, and freo, and you can usually find good sized houses on a propper block for the sort of money your talking..

East Perth is central (as the name suggests, it's east of Perth) but can be a bit pricey.

I'm just moving out of a rental apartment (2 bed, 2 bath, 2 secure car bays, 3 balconies and a spa in the ensuite) and it's for sale for $355,000 at the moment.

You can't go wrong with North Perth. Really central to Subi (eating and drinking) Northbridge (Partying and eating), Leederville (Drinking), Claremont (Toffee-nosing) etc.

With 5-700k You can get a very decent house in any of those suburbs really.

I went the apartment route myself, something about having no back/front yards to maintain that appeals to me, oh and like Jason said - the balcony!

Good luck with your move!

Can any of you good people tell me how strict the procedure is for transferring the registration of our beast.(TWO-06L) to WA rego. We currently have a friend that looks after that for us here and have had no hassles. The car is engineered to drive on N.S.W. roads....but that does not mean that it will be ok for W.A.

you really do have a big mouth, maybe you should keep it shut befor i have to keep it shut for you. no offence GTRKOK

always me.....this tread does not need your comments, we have asked for assistance from people in WA. You don't even live there, so zip it. :P

If your car is registered in NSW then you should have to many problems transfering over here. They actually call it vehicle license over here not rego which is still something i cant get used to.They have privatetly and state run pit inspection places and from the experience ive had the private joints are just gunna scratch there heads and say to hard (these guys cant make a decision).Your best bet is to get in contact with Reno (the man in charge)from the state run place at Weelshpool and just tell him you want everything done properly with permits etc for mods. The main things they dont like is to low,to noisy, dark tint, boost controllers and aftermarket ecu's and any other electronic gadgets that can control or alter the efi. Ive also heard that Midland pits isnt to bad either.

Good luck with the move over here,i made the move from sydney some 16 years ago and never really looked back.Missed my family, mates and contacts and the snow but i prefer the way of life over here especially now that im an hour out of perth.

i love people with half a clue.. have you been to perth/wa, always_me?

judging by your description, you wouldn't know what its like..

im guessing you probably struggle to remember which side of the country western australia is on too.

Read the guidelines Mirkop/wrecked head/always me.

No personal attacks or threats.

Byeeee :)

btw , if you are a shining example of Sydney culture then WA isn't far enough away for my liking...

Cheers

pls dont let him spoil this thread for us......shows how much he knows.....NED KELLY was from VIC.

pls tell us some more good things about WA.....saw this place on the TV 2day (just below Margaret River) where sting-rays come up to the waters edge and you can pat them, it was the clearest blue water I have ever seen! :)

two.06l, might have been the aqua marine park you saw on the tv, they have a petting poola s you walk in, but its pretty funky..

there are a lot of really nice beaches and stuff like that in WA, where you can get that, margaret river is one for the surfers, and the wine buff in you, really nice place to cmap too if your into that thing, the camping grounds down there while a camping ground, still have a toilet, and you can usually find showers at most of the caravan parks which will let you use them for a nominal fee, lots of caravan parks andplaces with challet type stuff too..

other really good spots to hit, bussleton/dunsborough, which is 30 mins north of margaret..

esperance, which IMHO has the best beaches of anywhere in the world, crystal clear water, the town itself is pretty cool, very friendly, lots of places to stay, lots of places to camp, lots of places, to swim and fish, and most of the beaches are hard enough to drive on in a normal car for a decent distance, so your not limited ot having a 4wd only..

Lancelin is an ok town, big with the surfers, good sand unes to have fun in, and wedge island a little shack town is 30 minutes north..

over that, kalbarri, big gorges, nice beaches, big with the beach fishermen, some really nice places to go..

Shark bay/monkey mia, many years ago, monkey mia used to rock, you could camp on the beach, pat the dolphins, feed the dolphins your own fish, it was realy laid back, while still a big tourist destination, saddly now you have to buy fish, im not sure if you can pet the dolphins anymore, and its been overly commercialised, which is a real shame, as it lost its shine, and i haven't been back there since being a kid..

further north, broome, tops for the nudist in you, _really_ nice in the middle of the year, mid 30's, nice humidity, you can get a really good tan, without needing sunscreen or getting burnt like a bastard, some nice sights there as well, the croc farm, and the big bird aviry for one..

and a little further inland, theres millstream, and the national parks there in, and the whitenoom gorges..

so that lot should keep you busy for a while

Will be happy to act as a tour guide if you like. Personally, somewhere near Murdoch could be good. South st has buses that go directly to Freo or maybe if you wanted near the beach swanborne would be another area. south of freo there is coogee with some new estates and housing developments going up near there and some (ahem) quieter roads through industrial areas. its also very close to the freeway if you wanted to head north to barbagallo its probably a 40- 45 min drive or the AHG driver training center about 20 min away with the motorplex south 10 min or less away and xspeed 10 to 15 min away.

I have a 2004 street directory at home if you want me to send it over to you.

With the car I would say have a chat to x-speed or C-red. I know roy at C-red does a lot of yellow sticker compliance work and would be able to tell you what you can or cant get away with in Perth. Normally you have around 3 months to transfer rego over but i have had qld rego on my car for the last 2 years and had little hassle with rego renewals.

Sounds great sileighty, we will be bring our 10sec drag weapon (10.3) with us and hopefully by the time we get over there it will be a 9sec drag weapon. Keen to give Motorplex a go as well as barbagallo. Need to locate somewhere close (taxi ride) to all the nightlife a we tend to run amok a lot.....sometimes too much...(we were in brissy last week and really aced it up!) Hopefully the WA sau'ers are a lively bunch cause it took a lot of pleading to get the QLD'ers out for one night...and only one fronted!

    • The speedo's can be very conservative, when my Mazda NC MX5 speedo is showing 118kph, the GPS, and a calibrated radar.... cop mate.....hits me at around 110kph +/- 1 or 2 kph, and that is on a 215/45 17, stock tyres size is 205/45 17 as well, so weirdly conservative with stock tyre size When my Commodore speedo red 116kph GPS had me at 110kph After doing some offset and clearance measurements to see what can fit the NC on 17x8 +40, without guard rolling or rubbing anything at my current ride height, I've decided that when my tyres are toast, I'm going to fit 225/45 17 and see where that gets me IRT actual speed of my speedo and GPS/radar From the online calculator I should be still be doing around 5kph under an actual 110kph when the speedo is showing 110kph My ADHD requires that when I'm doing 110kph on the speedo, that the actual road speed is actually really close to that, and not alot slower And going from 205 to 225 still keeps the car within the %/mm allowable in the NSW vehicle rules and regulations, which is nice, as long as I'm looking at the latest version that is.....LOL https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-02/RMS-13.464-Light-vehicle-modifications-Vehicle-Standards-Information-No-6-November-2013.pdf
    • Take the value it measured as, and pick the closest range available that is above the reading on the screen.   Also, no point just testing the coils. Read what has been said again. You need to test all your wiring, everything.
    • Does the scanner do all the CUs in the car, or only the ECU?
    • @666DAN sorry to bring you and old thread.     I've got my de+t done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.    Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd when selected . But nothing when in  drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic. I'm sure there is maybe 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Do ya have any ideas?     Cheers man
    • Well I recently changed my rear axles and was thinking if I bumped anything, I have been driving the car for a while now though... But it has been raining today so everything is wet under the wheel arches. Brakes feel fine and can't hear any of the metal screamers, I had a squeak coming from one of the handbrake drums but that seems to have gone away a while ago. I was going down a hill when it lit up and I did feel the abs bite for a second and question why it did it?
