Can I Use Ca18det Inj As Cheap Upgrade

B) I have read that CA injectors are high imp top feed 370cc injectors and that rb's are 270 cc top feed high imp I know it would only be a small increase but I wonder if they would flow enough to support over 200rwkw seeing as people swap gtr inj into ca just like they do to rb20's I think they may be a easier swap than rx7 or gtr injectors plus I think I should be able to get some for free off ca freaks who have done upgrades

when do ca inj run out of puff what kw atw? 170ish? that would mean 370cc can flow 42.50 kw per inj so 6 ca would be 255 rw kw?

even if they run out at 150 rwkw on a ca they would still be able to support 225 rw kw unless Im really bad at maths which I am so Im more than likely wrong.

CA18DET injectors are low imp. and ~370cc.

They flow roughly the same as a RB25DET injector.

From memory I 'think' rb25det injectors tend to max out around the 210-220rwkw mark on std fuel pressure.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the CA DE injectors are high imp, the DET injectors are low imp.

Nope, sorry, wrong answer, go to the back of the class.

RB20DET injectors are high impedance (13 ohms), top feed 270 cc's

RB26DETT injectors are low impedance (3-4 ohms), top feed 444 cc's

RB25DET injectors are also high impedance (13 ohms), side feed 370 cc's

RB25DET Neo injectors are also high impedance, top feed 370 cc's

(but a totally different shape to the RB20/26 injectors)

CA18DET injectors are low impedance (3 ohms), top feed

(so if you want to use them in an RB20DET you will need a GTR resistor pack or 6 X 10 ohms resistors, one for each injector.)

SR20DET S15 JDM manual injectors are high impedance (13 ohms), side feed 444 cc's

(So they make a good upgrade for RB25DET's)

Don't bother with local SR20DET injectors or autos, they are only 370 cc's.

Hope that clarifies

:D cheers :)

Its near impossible to get GTR injectors with a resistor pack.

I'm sourcing some decent 25w 10ohm resistors that i'm going to use to make up a injector resistor box.

I will make up a few extra box's to help a few ppls out.

you read my post right? i dont see anything written in yours regarding ca de injectors, only the det injectors in which you agree with what i've already said.

good reply sk ( /me bookmarks thread for future reference)

if you wanna go sard injectors

SARD High Resistance Fuel Injector 550cc Top Feed (63506)

SARD High Resistance Fuel Injector 800cc Top Feed (63565)

^model number for rb20det.

rb26 injectors are a common upgrade for CA18DET in fact, as they are both the same impedence/type

series 4 rx7 injectors (555cc) i *think* are a common upgrade for rb20det, but i'm not 100% on that, so best to check before you go out and buy some.

Series 5 turbo injectors with part number 195500 2020 (i think) are high impedence and can be run in an rb20 as well as later model series 4 turbo injectors with the pink/red plug and offset guide with p/n 195500 1320 or 1370 (it's been a while since i had any to check). The earlier series 4 turbo injectors share the same part number as the late model ones (the 1300 suffix) but have a brown plug and centre guide and are low imp so could be used in a GTR if they are still ok. Remembering that they are now close to 20 years old.

Its easy enough to make up your own resistor pack.

Finding decent high watt (25+) resistors for a decent price is the hard bit. :)

Does any one know what sort of current the injectors would draw?
