hey i just wanted to double check.. all 4 wheels are meant to be 350mm to the guard yeah ?? or is the rear differant to the front ?? thanks ;)

no, the front should be a bit more than the rear.... makes the car 'level'....

The Xmas rush has started, if you want suspension before the holiday break (22/12/06 to 3/1/07) then best not to delay too long.

:pirate: cheers

  • 2 weeks later...

There is currently zero stock of R33GTST front Bilsteins at Bilstein Australia. Production is scheduled in Germany early in the new year. I don't know how many shocks will be in the shipment, so I strongly suggest that you get in now. Jamex have agreed to take a $400 deposit to secure your shocks.

:P cheers :D

Sorry, this Group Buy is closed for shocks as there is no more stock of front R33GTST Bilsteins. I will re-open it when the next shipment is confirmed.

The other items (springs, bushes and stabilsier bars) are still available however.

:( Merry Xmas to all at SAU :)

So the bilsteins will be available again? Got a rough idea of when?

They are on the Bilstein Germany Production List, but they have no confirmed shipping date. When I know I will post it up.

:( cheers :)

damn! same here, was on my list of things to do in the new year. oh well, lets play the waiting game i guess. give me more time to save anyway. will be keeping an eye on this thread for when the arrive.

Hey Gary,

It might be in the thread somewhere, but its not in the first post...Was wondering what the model numbers for the whiteline springs are?

I know you've chosen the shocks to suit them, and added the extra groove, but are the springs just a regular whiteline product?

cheers.

hey everyone, here are some pics of the kit assembled. I know they are going under the car and all, but damn, they look good.

Oh, and I dropped my old stockers, the new kit, and the extra parts off at pedders, and they put all 4 together for me for $100 neat.

Excellent service.

Oh, and Gary, I decided to get the circlips at 342mm on the front, and 340mm at the back. This will allow 5mm sag after they set in, leaving me with 337mm Front Guard Height, and 335 Rear guard height making the car look level. This will also give 13mm rake, which is as close as I could get to your recommended 10mm setting. Hope this sounds ok!

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
