Ive searched and doesnt seem to be a thread about this...

So where are the good/value for money tyre shops?

I need to get some new tyres and not sure where, local shops seem to be asking for $459 for one bridgestone S03. And $500 for Continental Sports Contact 2.

255/40/17

So where do you get yours for? and how much?

Does it vary from suburb to suburb?

haha yeah go to tempe, just make sure they fit the right tyres....twice now that have put the wrong ones on the rim for me....they must have been confused because I asked for decent falkens (fk451) instead of the usual 326 deathtraps.

But if you are buying tyres in the $500 range, got for the dunlop SP Sport 9000 they are excellent.

Black tyres guildford.

blokes name is Adib, he is always busy as to do fitting, but he is cheap.

I think number 60-70 Railway St, Guildford / Yeenora.

Tell him Darko with the skyline sent you.

17" michellin pilots/pirelli P0z ~$100 each second hand with ~80% rubber or so (which will outlast shit brand new tyres anyday and much better grip etc.), ask him and see how you go.

i just bought new tyers yesterday from a cheaper place.. couldnt afford expencive ones.. but yer, i got Nackang Ultra Sport NS-II 255/40/17 rear for $170 and 235/45/17 front for $120 ... they grip a crap load better then what i had b4. i can actualy let my right foot drop (not heaps fast) in first and it doesnt spin the wheels.. b4 i had to take it quite easy or it would spin and kick out to the left or right.. (195rwkw) oh well

MAR55S, y u say nackng are crap? .. im sure that not great, cause there piss cheap, lol.. but it doesnt seem too bad for me atm

oh yeh, got the tyers from a place in granville called "7 Day Tyer/Wheel" $580 for all the tyers.

i agree champ, that is a ridiculous price for tyres, when all u are going to do is treat them like shit anyways!!!!! i will never pay $2k for a set of tyres unless i new i was going to die tomorrow.

p.s. i also think that eagle tyres in granville are pretty cheap, and have good service.

Aussie Best Tyres

Great Western Highway, St Marys

02 9673 6699

You don't have to tell them anyone sent you, or do a secret handshake. I shopped around for similar sized tyres and these guys were ok. You can tell them Matboy is sexy if you want... but they'd already know :P

Prices were really good, service was ok. I got a set of Toyo TPG's 235/45r17 and 255/40r17 for about $800ish? something like that.

$2k all round is a rip off for new Pirelli P-Zero's???

Why buy a nice car when your going to treat that like sh*t too?

Frankly I don't compromise when it comes to tyres. It's the only part of the car that comes in contact with the tarmac. Have all the suspension/turbo/brakes/flashy bits you want, but add cheap rubber in there and it all comes to nothing.

Pilot sports? I've had them on my old GTR and they're pretty good. Any other Michelin.... don't think so.

Anyhow, second hand tyres. I use to them. I had a set of P-Zero assymetrical on the GTR but they felt somewhat... lacking. Drove a mates 200SX with brand new P-Zero Nero's and the grip levels were a lot higher. I'm guessing the later generation PZero have differing compound.

    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
