Hey brad weighed it yesterday was 1480kg without me in it. Has a nismo twin plate.

Turbostyler i changed to a d-jetro because the air flow metres wernt working to well with a single turbo as in light throttle cruise etc. . I dont think 2 rb20 afm's would have had any physical restriction. The maps dont interchange they are different.

Thanks for the reply much appreciated!

How on earth did you get away with the sub 11?

:) cheers

Simon ran a 10.97, then ANDRA warned him if he ran another sub-11 pass they would ban him. He then ran his 10.91 and was told not to return till he had a cage etc.

If anyone is interested here is a link to an Australian supplier of Garrett turbos.

TO4Z is $2,300.

what are their contact phone number and where are they located?

Hi R32-GTS

Just wanted to say that is an awsome result and I'm sure there are alot of people who would even just sit in a car that had 600HP at the wheels.

Those Garret T04Z turbo's got to be one of the best turbo's out there, I've got one myself and get 560HP (417kw) at the wheels with 1.3bar (19 psi) boost.

I'd love to turn it up to 24 psi, maybe then I'd get a similar result.....

What are the modifications done to your engine, going into as much detail as possible. I have a fully built engine and it wouldn't be bad to compare.

One more thing, I run no air flow as well but use the Autronic SMC.

Thanks

Adam

PS. do you have any misfire problems or fouling plugs at that boost level?

There are a bit soft over there, one sub 11 and it's goodbye over here.

 cheers :P

How you going adam . If your only running 19psi on that turbo you will probably find you will be over 600 then at 24 + psi . It's hard to go into engine detail as most things have been done. Really just has Pauter rods , 87mm Arias Pistons , HKS metal head Gasket , HKS 272 272 10.25mm lift cams, hks valve springs , Jun oil pump , ported head , HKS valve guides , Tomei Cam studs , HKS Cam Gears , Trust sump extension and the usual smaller things. As with fouling plugs it hasnt as of yet but you do get a miss every now and then running that boost so i might gap the plugs down firther i think there gapped at .8mm atm. Still runs stock coils though.

Hey there R32-GTS

Thanks for the info!!

I run a similar setup but with HKS H-beam rods, 88mm HKS pistons, 1.6mm HKS headgasket, HKS step 2 280 280 10.25 lift cams, JUN oil pump, 8L sump, HKS valve spring, guides & the rest is HKS gear. A few things are changing right now though.

I run my plugs down to .6mm to avoid misfire & I use the Spitfire coils on them.

I don't have any real issues but I was wondering if running something like the Autronics 500R CDI unit or maybe the HKS CDI unit would help with a stronger spark & a better burn?

I've seen alot of GTR's with big HP upgrade their CDI & coil systems... any thoughts anyone?

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
