What clutch did you go with??

I just fitted an Xtreme Motorsports DSBMS Clutch Kit

Had big shudder issues when first fitted but appear to have eased a bit. Reverse is a killer still though.

Not sure but I think the fact its AWD doesn't help much, if you dump the clutch a bit harder it feels like the front diff is trying to climb out from under the car now.

I have spoken with Xtreme about this and we are working on a solution.

Be good to see how it copes come the Highclere Hillclimb next weekend. :bunny:

im just hoping my car is gonna survive highclere :-P

Highclere isn't that hard on cars.

Its all go except for one corner in the middle.

Basky Hillclimb probably puts more strain on your car than Highclere ever will.

aah nice! i need to find some vids of the highclere run so i know what it looks like

its going to rain. give me a call if you need me to reconstruct your car lol.

send me a msg if you head out mate I need a few laps round there as well

well. im hoping its an early or late drizzle! i want a few laps. ill be heading out there anyways even if i dont run :)

fark that off. seems your going for a "race car look" but your going about it wrong mate

put your GTR wing back on, get a GTR replica bar on the front and ditch the rear bar for a stocker. you could go with rear over fenders and even wider front guards but you could still pull it off as it sits

maybe a replica paint job like this....

I can get the decals/sponsors made and could get your wheels sand blasted and could paint them white also. not to mention i'm pretty handy with my tig i could even replicate that side pipe.

problem is... i dont really want the GTR look.. which is why im eventually gonna remove gtr bonnet, get rid of gtr wing and grill too.

I like the big wing look :nyaanyaa: have always wanted one, granted people arent gonna like it, but in the end its my car :-) i wanna do some tests with the wing at a track day as its adjustable. and hey, if it proves useless at a point i can take it off, whack it on cheries car when she gets a skyline :-P

Oh it wont be totally useless, when you get all hot and bothered from wrestling the car whilst its behaving like a cop on the track you have somewhere to hang your race suit out to dry :nyaanyaa:

    • There are black hose clamps as well if you care. Plazmaman for example sells some: https://plazmaman.com/product/black-hose-clamps-premium-quality-stainless-breeze/
    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
